"I Love 11:40"

"I know you’re not supposed to pick favorites, but 11:40 is easily one of my favorite bands! Great to work with and a blast to watch; 11:40 is the whole package.

I have had the pleasure of working with 11:40 for a couple of years now, and from the beginning I always noticed them as a band that brought a lot of energy when they performed. However, that is putting it lightly. Incredible lyrics, unbelievable guitar, and a rhythm section that makes all other bands jealous, is just another day for this rock band! I rarely see a band with as much showmanship, and I never see a band with more audience participation.

There are few rock bands I could ever recommend booking more. As most venues know, you need a band that is just as professional off stage as they are on; which is a rare combination, but 11:40 has it in spades. If anyone is ever looking for a rock band to book, this is the one!"

Bio

Making this dream come true is the hardest thing Ive ever had to do. And just between me and you sometimes its not easy to get through. All the days that make me blue, they break me down, still I pursue the only thing Ive ever known. Bleeding Heart, 11:40

Hailing from Denton, TX, 11:40 blends several musical influences including classic rock, metal, folk and progressive rock into an extensively enjoyed repertoire of original songs. Their uniquely imaginative music plays off the unbelievable talents of each member and has attracted an ever-increasing fan base to their conceptions. Truly original, 11:40s beautiful music and charismatic style pulls you in and leaves you begging for more.

11:40 was founded by lead singer Zach Scoggins. The only remaining original member, 11:40 had a period of trial and error in finding the right pieces to push from being a local group just making music to a truly original, and universally enjoyed, polished rock band. Through the years, the group has come together through creative differences, blind luck, and even death. Warren McCallum on bass was added in the early years, his energetic style adding extreme versatility. Casey Sparks came in shortly afterward on the drums. Adding uniqueness to the band, Gary Chase was brought on as a percussionist. With unbridled energy, he blended hand drums, shakers and tambourines into the bands rock sound. In need of a solid lead guitarist, Zach Howell brought his astonishing abilities, adding classic rock influences to 11:40s sound. Brandyn Handt was introduced, his classical training adding an unconventional twist to the rhythm guitar.

With this incredible group of individuals, 11:40 began to flourish. Constantly writing new music, playing new venues, and touching many with their music, 11:40 made the leap from their garage band beginnings to a widely accepted rock band. This push culminated in a collaboration with local Denton music producer, Ross Compton, and the recording of their first full-length studio album. Recording of the album began in the early months of 2012.

Tragedy struck in May of 2012 when 11:40s beloved drummer Casey Sparks was heartbreakingly killed. Even though Casey had already finished his parts for the album, recording was put on hold for a few months as the band came to grips with the loss of such an intrinsic portion of 11:40. The future of 11:40 was solidified when they returned to the studio to finish their album, now aptly named "Survive". "Survive" was released in March of 2013. Integrating songs through the evolution of the band, Survive became a favorite of 11:40s devoted following and is frequently featured in many area locales and on dentonradio.com.

For their live performances at this time Gary Chase altruistically jumped to the drum kit and allowed 11:40 to keep growing their fan base and evolving their music. After a long search, the final piece of 11:40 was welcomed in drummer Ray Tijerina. Ray brought a metal influence to the band and greatly varied the musical options for the band due to his extreme flexibility on the drums
.
11:40 is now a tight knit assemblage of dedicated professional musicians, utilizing their incredible individual talents to create uniquely diverse musical synergy. Through tragedy, success and hard work, 11:40 blends together influence and inspirations constantly working harder to improve from one song to the next. We are ready to take the world by storm and prepared for anything that comes our way!
