8-Bit Heroes

8-Bit Heroes was established in 2011 from the ashes of the Milwaukee top 40 band Samurai Lucy. Samurai Lucy was made up of veteran Milwaukee musicians who performed in bands like Sandcarvers, Screamin Cucumbers, and Boomchild. When Samurai's lead vocalists John Heckel and Jessie Weinberg decided to move on with other successful musical endeavors; Brian, Mick and RJ decided to stick together and form a new group. This time around the music had to be something all three of us truly enjoyed AND was under represented in SE Wisconsin. We quickly realized we wanted to focus on ALTERNATIVE rock music. 

After a long hunt for our lead vocalist we found an outstanding vocalist in Rigel Mitchell. Rigel had spent years with his original music act Way To Fall but wanted to give the cover band world a try. 8-Bit Heroes as a four piece was ready to go. With only one vocalist we found it difficult to cover enough musical styles of under the Alternative banner. After a little more of year of struggling to find steady quality gigs Rigel realized it was time to try something else. Once again, Brain, Mick and RJ decided to continue on and find new members. This time we wanted to multiple lead vocalists so that we could cover everything from heavy to light and high to low.

The new 8-Bit Heroes is determined to truly represent the best in Alternative music from the 90s and today. Our goal is to balance our setlist with outstanding 90s classics while mixing in fantastic new alternative music. With Danielle and Jeremy we have two outstanding lead singers that can cover almost anything in the Alternative music world. Our new line up is eager to bring a new twist to SE Wisconsin's cover band scene.
