""Blazing a Trail" from Horn Matters; Bruce Hembd"

You have to admire Amie Amis and her artistic output. It defines “thinking outside the box” – an eclectic style fusing jazz, pop and a number of other elements. Oh – and she plays French horn! - Bruce Hembd: Horn Matters, "Blazing a Trail"

"Christian McBride"

"Amie is a badass French horn player." - Christian McBride

"Unstrung Music: Lara Ewen"

"She is the cutest thing and then she picks up her big-ass French horn and rocks out." - Unstrung Music

"The List; by Mirium Sturdee"

"Guests for the evening included the most delicious New Yorker Amie Amis, singing the self-penned 'Caveman' (the only perfomer ever to make the French Horn look sexy)..." - The List

"Loungerati; by Fredo"

“The show was outstanding... I enjoyed the energy and diversity of the band's music.”
- Loungerati

"Vail Daily; by Ted Alvarez"

“Amie Amis specializes in a not-easily-categorizable blend of lounge-pop and jazz, with occasional blasts of Pixies-ish power pop thrown in for good measure. Think a slinky, live Stereolab fronted by a stylishly modern Betty Boop.” - Vail Daily

Bio

Amie is thrilled to have just completed a successful debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2012!

Amie’s fun-loving, pixie-ish, personality is contagious as she moves around the stage singing catchy melodies and shredding out on French Horn into a full backbend onto the floor. Her stage antics get a crowd roaring and the audience leaves the show humming her exhuberant melodies.

Amie Amis has been a sideman on French horn for Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Diana Krall; and recently co-wrote/sang songs featured in the film "In Time" starring Justin Timberlake. Her compositions are inspired by Stereolab, Cibo Matto, Charles Mingus, Francis Lai and her singing style is compared to Astrude Gilberto and Nora Jones.
