"Archangel presents the lyrical video for, ‘I’ featuring PMRnB & Briana Micah"

A progressive artist and songwriter from Memphis who has risen to immense social media fame with his sheer talent as a fantastic music producer is Archangel. The artist embraces the roots of hip-hop and R&B to set an exciting precedent in the industry. Blending the right amount of groove and immersive keys, the music curator has recently dropped another hit single titled ‘I’ that tries to spin the mood immediately and elevates the spirits with its dominant and enriching musical hooks. It’s a positively gripping musical work that never lets up the intrigue and is accompanied by some great vocal performances by PMRnB and Briana Micah.

Archangel’s chilled flow is influenced by the very best of both genres as he infuses new jack swing elements for offering a sound reminiscent of J Cole, Childish Gambino, and Kanye. With a lot of conviction, the talented musician has pushed his creative energy to reflect on his musical insight and has paved the way for a fulfilling future. The song ‘I’ comes attached with a captivating music video that certainly elevates the experience. The evolving nostalgic synth along with the artist’s hard-hitting beat support creates a hypnotic upbeat ambiance which is definitely something that every music lover will keep wanting more. - Artist Rack

"Archangel (@Man1stArtist2nd) – “VI” (Audio)"

Memphis has been on fire for years but the recent years have been something exciting for the industry. Giving the world a gang of hit records and major industry heavyweights like Dolph, MoneyBagg and Blac Youngsta it’s clear that Memphis is a different breed and has the world’s attention. It makes perfect sense why Archangel’s new song “VI” has been gaining so much traction and receiving the love that it has so far. Archangel is smart, he made a dope ass anthem for a city that is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. Memphis, Tennessee is his home and he is giving the outside world a glimpse into it. Push play and go on a journey with Archangel. If you love hard-hitting, deep low end beats with funky ass strings, topped with that M-Town bounce full of bars then this ones for you. - Rive Video

"Archangel, The Elite EP"

Archangel is no higher-ranking angel by any means, but I would honestly say he does rank fairly high in the area of rapping skills & execution. Archangel represents Memphis, Tennessee and he appears to be a man on a mission when it comes to holdin’ down the hip-hop game. Music runs through his blood and so he is hopin’ to make a statement on ‘The Elite EP’. Memphis may be home to the birth of rock & roll, but along comes Archangel to shake things up a bit!

Being that Archangel is from the so-called “Dirty South”, it’s no surprise then that he would include a “Clean” & “Dirty” version to ‘The Elite EP’. So…explicit OR not explicit; that is the question? This hungry artist has got you covered on the new release with something for everyone!

There are eight blazing tracks on the EP and I have to admit that each song has its own identity & flavor. Archangel definitely has a style of his own with no signs of copycatting goin’ on whatsoever. It’s in his best interests to bring hot ‘n’ fresh rhymes every time! And that’s what you’ll get on ‘The Elite EP’ where according to Archangel himself he’s got “Picasso flow”. Nobody’s perfect by any means including the great Picasso and his masterful work, but I can attest to the fact that Archangel has a dynamite delivery & dope flow. The beats are crowd-pleasing to the point where I couldn’t help myself from bobbin’ my head at times. The mixing on the ‘The Elite EP’ is well-balanced and the mood is bouncy as you will find yourself movin’ & groovin’ to the sounds of Archangel.

This Tennessee phat kat definitely has a street swag that you will pick up on right away when listening to the EP. When you squeeze together street smarts, confidence, attitude, heart and real truth you get an exact match for the one they call Archangel. With mainstream hip-hop/rap in BIG trouble these days, Archangel is hoping to bring back some sort of dignity & respect toward the genre. So get ready as this Memphis rapper attempts to slice & dice the competition on ‘The Elite EP’. With an Archangel in plain sight there is always HOPE!

"Archangel – Hallelujah M.U.S.I.C. (Exclusive Edition)"

Memphis musician Tarrance Brown a.k.a. “Archangel” finds inspiration all over the place, be it a moment with Marvin Gaye or a “construction worker with a jackhammer.”

Archangel’s latest release is the Exclusive Edition mix tape from his series M.U.S.I.C. – a nifty acronym for “Man U Saw It Comin.”

“Dumb” is a dance/hip-hop track with a distorted, kind of chopped, tempo. There’s mention of an “overdose on Viagra,” which sounds like a fun time to me.

“Ball” starts out a bit more distant-sounding, almost dreamlike. However, a dominating rap voice soon arrives. The background synthesizer launches into a fast tempo, but the rap retains its rather methodical pace. This provides for an interesting effect. Speaking of effects, a wild cocktail of them is applied to the vocals in the track’s final part. It’s like the rap is being mainlined into my ear drum.

In the track “Hustle,” the speaker – a “product of the struggle” – seems hell-bent on ‘gettin his’ by any means necessary.

“I Ride” has something of an ominous tone.

“True Statement” sounds very confident and self-satisfied.

Regarding the track “Menopause,” it never occurred to be that the menstrual cycle could be fodder for hip hop, but maybe I don’t know much about either. It’s a pretty wild track, with a good helping of graphic lyrical imagery. Both vocal and electronic sounds are zooming in and out from every which direction.

“Dumb”:

“Rhythm” is different. First of all, it’s jazzy. Secondly, the vocals come on board with an exotic flair. As Archangel chants, “I gotta keep ‘em in rhythm,” I feel like some witch doctor is fixin’ to hypnotize me. Go right ahead, pal: for this track is my personal favorite. It feels like I’m on a totally different frequency; the world’s passing me by, and I couldn’t give the slightest toss.

The Exclusive Edition mix tape will be out any moment on iTunes. Whet your Archangel appetite at:

This mixtape is the first of three in his “M.U.S.I.C.” series. His goal with the “Classic Edition” is to bring to light a certain depth that he feels hip hp music is lacking. The second mixtape, “Hallelujah M.U.S.I.C. (Exclusive Edition),” which is hosted by DJ Crumbz is set to drop in summer 2012; and the final installment, “Hallelujah M.U.S.I.C. (Live Edition), will be hosted by DJ Smalls and will be released soon after.
The acronym M.U.S.I.C. stands for “Man U Saw It Comin’,” which is the title of Archangel’s forthcoming album, set for release during the first quarter of 2013.

"Archangel- Street Symphony"

There is a 26-year-old native of Memphis, Tennessee that “vows to capture the core of Hip-Hop and show that there is a little life left.” Archangel is a rapper, writer and producer who released his mixtape Street Symphony hosted by DJ Smallz in 2010.

I first saw Archangel at an open mic in Atlanta and I was pleased. He has a boyish charisma that you don’t see in all independent artists and a pleasant personality. He had the hood and the boujie rocking to his song that night. I figured I had to hear more from him because first impressions are important and he had a good first impression.

I continued to hear some of that same potential as I listened to this Street Symphony mixtape. He gives the listeners good variety with tracks for the streets, the ladies and the in-between. The beats bring a southern flare, with some slightly infused with heavy musical instruments and R&B. I was waiting to hear that one beat that really caught my attention but it never came. The beats are solid but I did not get a feel that any of them were THAT ONE. On the other hand, his lyrics were solid for this type of music.

Archangel’s Street Symphony is a decent project overall.

Bio

Archangel grew up fast in Memphis, Tennessee where his childhood wasn’t really a childhood so to speak. He would bounce around from house to house and was even forced to move out of state so that his father couldn’t see him. From breakdowns in school because he missed his dad to angry feelings toward his father, young he would turn all of his negative anger into positive energy by becoming a top athlete in track, basketball, and football and joining the Marines later on. And being that he was the strong, silent, and independent type at such an early age, he would also invest a lot of his time into writing poems and reading the business & money sections of the newspaper instead of the comics. Even though it wasn’t all fun & games for him back in the day, he didn’t let it stop him from living life to its fullest. With a sharp & driven mind in place and a bright future on the cards, when young he had his eye on the prize and failure was not an option.

Music was the real saving grace & savior for Archangel where he said himself,

“Music after 15 has been my escape from most pains in my life”.

Hanging out with his childhood friend Christopher Forest aka K-le in his grandmother’s living room and recording music on a 4-track was where the magic happened and where it all started for him. Music opened up new & exciting doors for Brown where he could spread his wings and become Archangel for all to see and hear. Archangel would become Tarrance’s new alter ego but more so it was his newfound image and presence that he would come to fully embody.

Tarrance aka Archangel owes a lot to his former neighborhood colleague Jason Riddle ‘Chino’ who is the one person that kept pushing Tarrance to do music in the first place. After ‘Chino’ read one of his poems, he was on him like white on rice to attack the mic and spill some rhymes. Archangel took his advice and decided to give it a shot at the age of 15 but you’re already aware that Tarrance Brown grew up fast and focused so you have to know that it wasn’t going to be a sloppy approach by any means. Far from it as Archangel would first listen to artists & labels like Rakim, Three 6 Mafia of Memphis, Indo G of Memphis, T- Rock, and No Limit Records to get a better and more in-depth understanding of the art of delivery.

Archangel was finally ready to fly high at 15 where it would start at school and lead to a friend named Bledsoe taking him to a studio after class and the rest is history!
