Meet Our Friend: Lucy Schwartz (Plus My Favorite Olympic Moments)

Posted By from February 15, 2010

altIn case you couldn’t tell from my previous post, I am a huge fan of the Winter Olympics. While my favorite sport is soccer, I have a deep-seated respect for all athletes and always look forward to watching as many major sporting events as possible. For this reason, throughout these winter games, I will be including some of my favorite Olympic moments at the bottom of each post. Hope you enjoy them!

As we turn our eyes to Vancouver, let’s not forget to turn our ears on to great new music. Today I’d like to continue my ‘meet our friends’ series by introducing you to the lovely and talented Lucy Schwartz [Facebook, Myspace, last.fm].

altLucy is a fellow Berklee alumnus and was a classmate of our drummer, Travis Abel, so we’re really excited to see her doing great things! Her latest EP, Help Me! Help Me!, [iTunes, Amazon] is truly fantastic from start to finish and I’d like to invite you to watch a music video for the first single below

altNo puppets were harmed during the making of this video

Is that catchy of what? Lucy has penned songs for the opening and closing credits to the films The Women and the upcoming Mother and Child, starring Naomi Watts. You may have also heard her singing on TV in Grey’s Anatomy or ER. But, despite her rising celebrity, she has remained charmingly down to earth, as you can see by her response to my feature request on Facebook:

altIf you dig what Lucy’s doing as much as I do, tell a friend about it, post a link to this article as your status on Facebook, or send out a tweet. Help Her! Help Her! Spread the word

Hope this finds you feeling healthy!

-Mason

And now I present to you what was, in my opinion, yesterday’s greatest olympic moment: Hannah Kearney’s gold-medal winning moguls run! Click the image below to watch her in action.
