The Past is a Grotesque Animal [Of Montreal Cover]Posted By from August 12, 2009Yesterday I heard via Pampelmoose.com that Squeak E Clean Productions was looking for a male vocalist to be featured in an upcoming short film directed by Spike Jonze. If you are not familiar with his work then please stop reading this right now. Seriously. Head over to your local video store and pick up a copy of Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. You can thank me later Spike is an artists artist. He directs, writes, produces, dances trust me, IMDB him, hes pretty awesome. In case you cant tell, Im a big fan of his work so I was stoked to see that he was creating an opportunity for independent artists to be able to collaborate with him. What was even cooler was that the audition for the gig simply consisted of recording a performance clip of Of Montreals The Past is a Grotesque Animal. No cold calls, analytics, or PowerPoints, just a YouTube video. Pretty sweet, huh? Are there any Of Montreal fans here? This is what I put together. Let me know what you think! Do you love it/hate it? Did I do it justice? Would you like to see some other covers find their way onto our Youtube page? Leave us some comments with your thoughts!
