"B.I.C.'s "STFU" Is A Loud Song About Being Quiet"

""STFU" starts out relatively polite: the rapping is conversational and even-keeled; the tone is pointed but still observational. Why you talkin' 'bout this, why you talkin' 'bout that? Man, you talk too much. Why you always say something when it really ain't nothin'—man, you talk too much. That is is all just pre-amble though, a build-up to a roaring, abrasive hook: Don't talk about shit! BIC Media directed the clip for the track, which was shot with an iPhone 6S.
The track originally appeared on the Red tape last April. Listen to that below." - The Fader

"Premiere: Listen to B.I.C.'s New Banger, "FEELZ" (Prod. by Metro Boomin)"

The Bronx collective Bitches Is Crazy has been bubbling up from New York's underground scene these last couple of years, and will break out before you know it. Today, they drop their new single "FEELZ," which should help their cause. Izzy OZ, Ill Spills, Pete and Yesus 199 bounce all over Metro Boomin production like only they can, rapping about smoking wax and making guapo any way.

The hook will make you Harlem Shake at a wake. Do a dab and hit play or hit play and do a dab—whatever floats your boat. - Complex

"A Bronx Summer Stars In B.I.C's "Everything Gucci"

"How it feel to know you just lost to a loser? Pete asks as "Everything Gucci" swerves to a close, and soon fifty Bronx deadbeats are mobbing in the street, Solo cups held high. Uptown summers in New York are a dreamscape of loud cars, long flags, white dominoes and black Hennessy, and BX natives B.I.C bring it to life in their latest video, premiering today. "'Everything Gucci' is a song about working past everyday struggle & always staying positive," the crew tells The FADER of the second single off their April release, Red. "The video is in memory of our little brother, Kyle 'Slime' Caraballo." Locals can catch the crew at The Flat in Brooklyn tonight." - The Fader

"THIS “NICKELODEON JOINT” CREATED BY B.I.C. IS COMPLETELY AWESOME [STREAM]"

"If you ever wanted a “grown-up” version of your favorite ’90s SNICK shows, these guys have got you covered. Bronx-based group B.I.C. (Bitches Is Crazy) has managed to successfully (and hilariously) integrate two iconic intros from former hit shows “All That” and “Kenan and Kel” into this crazy mashup.

The track, which is a freestyle over the theme songs from the popular shows, boasts the same melodies and production from the original track, and is a witty (and far more explicit) version of the two songs. The single serves as the latest from their newest mixtape (RED), which features producers Buddah SPK, DJ DNA, DJ Kam 1, Money Montage, as well as a bonus track from Frander.

Check out the fun track up top now and be sure to download (RED) here." - The Stashed

"B.I.C. ‘RED’"

"After dropping off the music video for “That’s The Way” a couple weeks back, Bronx crew B.I.C. (Bitches Is Crazy) return with their project RED to celebrate 4/20. VESA, Chuk, DJ DNA, Buddah SPK, Money Montage, DJ Kam 1, and Frandler hold down production duties, soundtracking verses from all four members. The tape is free of outside features, so what you’re getting is pure Bitches Is Crazy. The tape runs the gamut stylistically, from high energy and celebratory joints to more reflective and restrained ones.

Stream the project below and download it on Bandcamp." - Mass Appeal

"B.I.C. – RED (Mixtape)"

"I’m happy to present RED, the latest mixtape from the Bitches Is Crazy crew. The bulk of the production on the 14-track offering was handled by Chuk, DJ DNA and VESA, and the tape is refreshingly devoid of outside features.

Stream and download below." - Nahright

"B.I.C. – Influence [Free LP]"

"Alright, let’s get this out the way, B.I.C. stands for Bitches Is Crazy, unlike the last time the word came up today, there’s nothing redeeming in the use here. However, if you can get past the name, you’ll hear that this crew has some very dope music. Nothing gimmicky about it, these dudes can spit – straight up authentic NY hip-hop coming right from the North Bronx. Their new LP, Influence, features 17 original tracks with production from Vesa, Chuk Le Garcon, Spvce, MP The God, BK Beats, Black Noi$e, and Shaun G. With 4/20 just a few days away, I couldn’t think of a better album to let burn (so to speak) throughout the day." - Okayplayer

"Bitches Is Crazy (B.I.C.) - Influence [Mixtape]"

"If you listen to anything today, I implore you to give Bitches Is Crazy (B.I.C.) a chance, not simply because their name reveals a brutally honest truth, but because that same frankness is reflected in the music. Their brash Influence mixtape is raw and reminiscent of the gems carved out of NYC’s boroughs in years past. The collection of MCs has a certain flair for the authentic that seems less like ‘90s impressionism and more like a modern evolution." - EARMILK

"Stars & Hype Forever: Bitches Is Crazy"

"Known for witty, trash talking lyrics and wavy anthems over psych-splattered beats, B.I.C. have been credited with a new school meets old school style all their own. The group’s hit single “Yo Soy Widdit” off of 2013’s Influence mixtape caught some serious wind. The video for the track resonated with audiences outside the Bronx, earning them a spot in New York’s bubbling hip hop scene. As icing on the cake, the group’s energetic live performances ensure no matter the venue, the party gets turnt up." - Mass Appeal

"New Music: Nick Catchdubs Feat. B.I.C. “Wuts That”"

"From Lil B and The Cool Kids to Danny Brown and GrandeMarshall, Fool’s Gold has always remained one step ahead of the game when it comes to what’s cool, and what’s next. With the label’s co-founder, Nick Catchdubs, prepping the release of his debut album, it’s rowdy Bronx rebels B.I.C. (aka Bitches Is Crazy) who get sweaty under the spotlight on Nick’s new single, “Wuts That.” To witness just how crazy this sounds live, catch the guys performing together at New York’s Webster Hall Studio next Friday (September 19).

An “anything-goes collection of gleeful club collabs and oddball beats featuring guest spots from IAMSU, Heems, Troy Ave, MNDR, Roach Gigz and more,” Nick Catchdub’s Smoke Machine album is due out January 2015.

"B.I.C. (Bitches Is Crazy) – Don’t Matter Much"

"After releasing their Influence project on 4/20, then following that up with their Shaun G-produced jam “MYB (Mind Your Business)” just a few days later, Bronx, NY hip-hop crew, B.I.C.(Bitches Is Crazy) return to the music scene with a new join today produced by MP The God. Ready to heat up the summer, listen below as crew members Yesus and Pete point out how certain things “Don’t Matter Much.” - AshleyOutrageous.com

"Premiere: Celebrate 4/20 With B.I.C.'s New 'Greenhouse' EP"

Bitches Is Crazy is a rap game frat of wild Bronx cats that like women, weed, and having a good time, and that shines through on their new EP that's fittingly out on 4/20. Clocking in at 26 minutes, Greenhouse is short and sweet like a bong hit before work. With Hot 97's Ebro playing them on his Beats 1 show, B.I.C.'s grassroots movement is gaining momentum, and if they keep putting out quality projects like this, they'll soon find themselves in the conversation as one of the best rap acts coming out of NYC.

"The green represents our growth, renewal, energy, ambition & the pursuit of the dollar. The EP encompasses all of these elements in the music, bringing bass heavy, ambitious upbeat cuts to the forefront," the uptown crew told us via email.

The tape features production from B.I.C. familiar faces VESA, Saidon, Brandon Thomas, DJ DNA, Drunk Uncle, Money Montage, and Chuk. "I Don't Wanna" is high-energy; "Ricky Ricardo" is a potential hit which showcases their effortless humor; "Leftover Girl" should get some New York radio play; "Life" brings their ability to switch flows to the forefront. This new EP is all about B.I.C.'s underrated versatility. Let them take you on a ride with South Park's Towelie riding shotgun. - Complex

"PREMIERE: B.I.C. (B*TCHES IS CRAZY) REINVENT THEMSELVES WITH GOHAN FISHER’S “DEEMZ” [STREAM]"

B.I.C. (otherwise known as Bitches Is Crazy) has steadily become one of the top prospects from New York City’s the Bronx over the last year, as their slightly insane eccentric rap techniques and bass-heavy production stylings have been etched in the minds of a growing number of onlookers. Pushing the envelope on “alternative” hip-hop, the group looks to reinvent the standard, and has hit that goal with their brand-new mixtape DEEMZ. The tape, which was produced in its entirety by B.I.C.’s own Kill Izzy under the moniker Gohan Fisher (a nod to Dragon Ball Z fans), was made in memory of late B.I.C. member Jose “Seword” Henriquez, who passed away four years ago today.

Produced in the room of Kill Izzy (Gohan Fisher), the tape is full of ominous sounds and dark lyricism. Comparable to lyrical content from the “trap movement,” the tape manages to capture the very thoughts that go through one’s mind as the guys reach higher levels while using certain recreational drugs. What stands out most is the project’s “Intro,” which sets the tone for the kind of wild yet oddly endearing time that listeners will have while consuming the tape. “We do our best to leave you wanting more on intros,” said B.I.C. Mixed and mastered by Mike Spits, the tape employs a few interesting touches, including the fading out of tracks mid-hook that would have seemingly continued for a much longer time, thus leaving the listener in a state of suspense of what’s to come throughout.

Deemz marks Gohan Fisher’s entry to the musical realm, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Get lost in B.I.C.’s Fisher’s 10-track (with two bonus tracks) project up top in the player now. And for even more B.I.C., check out their fun ode to ’90s cartoons, “Nickelodeon Joint,” here. - The Stashed

"STARS & HYPE FOREVER: BITCHES IS CRAZY"

Stars & Hype Forever is your in-depth guide to what’s next in hip hop. Each week we profile an artist you need to know about, and arm you with the essential artillery to decide if they’re the real deal, or just hype. To help readers make sense of the spectrum, curators Andriana and Yo! Adrian weigh in on each week’s talent, by assigning them a blanged out hypeability score at the very end.

For week two of S&H, we hit up the Bronx’s northside for a smoky shoot in Van Cortland Park with the rappers that form the group Bitches Is Crazy. We chopped it up with the Uptown Highlanders about their music, getting away with murder in NYC, and their infamous banger, “Yo Soy Widdit.” With talks of solo projects and a debut album in the works, B.I.C. have New York hip hop heads waiting with baited breath to see what they’ll do next. This is Stars & Hype Forever.

AKA: The D Generation X of Hip Hop, Uptown Highlanders, The Influence

Reppin’: Bronx, New York

Beginnings: The rap crew made up of Yesus199, Pete, Ill Spills, and Izzy-Oz formed from the shared bond among their Bitches Is Crazy crew. After years of friendship and rapping as a hobby, the crew found a true purpose after the tragic passing of a close friend. The rest is history.

The Hype: Known for witty, trash talking lyrics and wavy anthems over psych-splattered beats, B.I.C. have been credited with a new school meets old school style all their own. The group’s hit single “Yo Soy Widdit” off of 2013’s Influence mixtape caught some serious wind. The video for the track resonated with audiences outside the Bronx, earning them a spot in New York’s bubbling hip hop scene. As icing on the cake, the group’s energetic live performances ensure no matter the venue, the party gets turnt up.

The Lowdown:
Adrian Says: Bitches Is Crazy can’t simply be dismissed off the moniker. There is much more than meets the eye when it comes to these North Bronx underdogs. Their music bleeds the gritty essence of NYC in the modern day, while paying homage to the greats that came before them. You can’t help but enjoy listening to these four equally talented MCs (each with distinct flows) duke it out on every track; friendly competition that results in raw lyrics and hooks that’ll have you singing along in your drunken stupor.

But don’t get it twisted, B.I.C. is much more than party vibes, their music is a representation of the struggles and strife seen daily in the X. Four friends came together with an insatiable hunger, and hip hop heads are starting to catch on. With the borough that birthed hip hop currently in open season, B.I.C. is about to kick down the door and bring the Bronx back into a prominent standing among the New New York scene.

Dre Says: With a name like “Bitches Is Crazy,” and naked girls, drugs, and booze filling up their videos, it’s easy to write this group off as one-dimensional. But spend any amount of time with their music and the layers begin to peel back. The B.I.C. boys wear their musical hearts on their sleeves when it comes to content, infusing every lyric with a sense of genuineness. For as much as every other rapper is talking about “real life” in their songs, B.I.C.’s tracks drip with a “no gimmicks” attitude that’s hard to not appreciate.

Beyond their knack for catchy hooks, there’s something fascinating going on between the producers they work with and the rappers themselves. Through a thinly veiled purple haze, B.I.C.’s sound drips with a throwback feel reminiscent of acts that inspired their sound. It’s wavy meets boom bap. If only they could bottle that recipe, cuz folks would drink it right up. A truly New York project bubbling just above 170th street has won me over with more than the promise of a drug-fused rager.

On Becoming a Group

Running in the Bronx as part of the Bitches Is Crazy crew, Yesus199, Ill Spills, Izzy and Pete had been friends rapping years before they realized they were onto something special. In 2011, a catalyst, the sudden passing of B.I.C. founding member, “Se Word,” ignited a desire to take their rap game to the next level.

“We were stagnant until he passed. Everywhere we go in this game we’re gonna carry Se Word on our backs. That’s the person that showed us that we could really do this shit. He really made us wanna get out of our comfort zone. He was recklessly ambitious, that’s the best way to put it.”

“Now we recklessly believe the fact that we are gonna make it, and we thank him for that more than we thank him for bringing us together.”

“We were all friends, these are my niggas to the death, but you can’t say that’s your nigga to the death until one of you really go. We realized you never know, it could end tomorrow. Once he passed, we discovered the meaning of our lives.”

On “Yo Soy Widdit”

The concept for B.I.C.’s most popular track, “Yo Soy Widdit,” is ingenious from the song itself down to the visuals, complete with buck naked broads in ski masks, 4 a.m. cyphs on the subway, Edward Forty-Hands, and the most ratchet activities that one could possibly fathom.

“Illz came up with the concept for ‘Yo Soy Widdit.’ The shit came out exactly how we thought it was gonna come out, music-wise. We didn’t wanna drop the song without having the video. It was gonna be a package deal. We started conceptualizing crazy-ass shit we could do, the most ‘Widdit’ things you could possibly do. We did a bunch of shit that put our livelihood at risk, so respect that shit nigga! There was a lot of high risk shit like smoking on the train at 4 a.m. in the morning.”

On Their Music

Touching on personal experiences and the desire to connect with rap fans on a realer level, B.I.C. seeks to tell a story as much as they seek to throw a party. “It’s the fan aspect that gives us that competitive edge and that’s one of the reasons we rap. We started to rap cause the people we fucked with weren’t doing it for us anymore. These dudes are fucking up, we need a resurgence of good rap. We’re gonna be the ones to do that, and we happen to be capable of that.”

“[Our music] is about life, just everything we go through. You could listen to ‘Yo Soy Widdit’ and hear the bitches and weed shit. But you can listen to ‘DOPM’ and hear all the hustle we put into this. We have songs for the ladies. Influence was named Influence for a reason. Every single one of those songs on Influence is something that we’ve gone through in the past year.”

With a handful of trusted beatmakers on lock, B.I.C.’s sound brings listeners back to the Golden Era of hip hop. “Our producers definitely shape the sound. MP the God gave us a lot of our sound right from the jump, we’re on the same wavelength. We evolved and took their whole sound. With Chuk Le Garcon and MP, there’s a golden feel in everything, but it’s lively.”

“It’s more than just the music with them. MP, Chuk, and VESA are welcome in my house. They can sleep in my home whenever they need to. That’s how serious it is.”

On Haters

With a name like “Bitches Is Crazy,” and lyrics steeped in drug use and general rap game smut, the group has often provoked controversy and been overlooked by the hip hop world. “The music has nothing to do with the name at the end of the day. They’re so far apart, if you just look at the name and try to think about what the music will sound like, you’re gonna be completely wrong every time. The only connection is that I like to think of us as ‘Expressionism Rap.’ Take that however you want to cause it’s some artsy hipster shit that I could play off anyway. We all exaggerate and over-emphasize certain things to bring attention to ourselves. Once they hear the music they actually get mad at themselves. Like, ‘Fuck, why is this shit so hot?’”

On Beards

The B.I.C. boys look is characteristically East Coast, with each member sporting their own style of facial hair. “Honestly, they’re commitment beards, our beards can’t go until we make a certain amount of money or sell a certain amount of records.”

Ill Spills, the idea man of the group says their beards are about more than just a look, “Mine is a struggle beard representing the struggle of our come up, certain things not connecting yet (laughs). We’ll get there.”

B.I.C.’s Guide to Getting Away With Shit in NYC

Look no further than the “Yo Soy Widdit” video, Bitches Is Crazy are about that life. The guys gave us a lesson in keeping it low-key and avoiding the boys in blue. “There was a lot of high risk shit we did for ‘Yo Soy Widdit,’ like smoking on the train at 4:20 a.m. We brought our big boy balls to the table. On the train there’s a ventilation system that when you smoke it just blows all the air out of the car.”

DISCLAIMER: “We don’t encourage or suggest this method for any inner-city trains but if [you’re] like on a D train in Brooklyn or the A train in Inwood do that shit right before the last stop, you have enough time.”

“Word or if you on like 167.”

“On the D train from 59th to 125th late at night. Only do that during NYC’s dead hours.”

“When you’re smoking in the street, don’t act like you’re doing anything wrong. Don’t look around and be all paranoid!”

“Don’t hold it in your hand like you tryna hide that shit. We’re talking into a tape recorder smoking a blunt and no one is noticing.”

“You can do your casual look-around. But don’t pass me the blunt at my thigh.”

“If it hits the floor, you have a situation where no one will want to pass it to you.”

“And if you see the boys, it doesn’t matter at all. Just worry about the D’s (detectives) bruh. If you get stopped by the blue boys, move out of New York City.”

“It’s easy to pick out detectives though. Here, they’re always in Yankee gear or maybe like a Giants jersey with a Giants velcro snapback. And they got the jersey that no one would ever buy.”

Choice Lines: “Lawless to the coffin, rock my Yankee hat in Boston / And they thank me like I’m God’s gift, girls suck my dick like they love me cause I’m gorgeous / Still a real nigga at the club sneaking Coors in.” (Yesus199 – “NEVERCHILLIN”)

“…fuck sentiment or acting like a gentleman hoe I’m just tryna fuck! / That’s exactly what I’m yellin’ all these bitches that love me wanna cuff me like a felon, but I don’t love none of you hoes / A nigga faded like overwashed clothes, if I’m sober hell froze / Is it over? Hell no.” (Pete – “Wasted”)

“Smoking out in public, feet up looking suspect. Cop an iPhone from a dusthead I’m like Yo Soy Widdit. Shorty down to fuck in public, hand up in her like a puppet while I’m polishing my musket I’m like Yo Soy Widdit!” (Ill Spills – “Yo Soy Widdit”)

“I’m like ALERT DANGER, cause all these hoes wanna be Topanga. Creepin’ at my shows front row, screaming with they hands up. Looking for a hand out but all they really getting is reality checks, dick, and eventualities.” (Izzy – “Oz-Groupie Love”)
