"Troy's Talented Candace Sosa to perform at Winter Blast!"

You might wonder if Candace Sosa is serious about a music career. Does the fact that she has a recording studio in her home let you know music is definitely her intended career path.
In fact, she was recording another artist in her studio when she got the call inviting her to sing at his year's Motown Winter Blast this coming weekend.
Candace, a senior in high school, and just 17 years old, has several years of performance experience under her belt. She also performed at last year's "Art, Beats & Eats" in Royal Oak, Mi.
In earlier years, Candace was asked to join the band "Live the Dash", a
pop-rock band. She was not just the singer, but one of the lead guitarists.
Candace's talent lies not only in her vocal and guitar skills, but also in writing mature lyrics and music that belie her tender age.
Want to hear Candace sing and play?
Candace has finished her debut EP. Aptly entitled "Where We'll Start", you can listen and download it and other of her original songs at her website: www.CandaceSosaMusic.com. She's also on ITunes.

Bio

Candace Sosa

At a time when most 17 year olds are hitting the books for their 12th grade midterms, Candace Sosa, is already an accomplished singer, songwriter, and guitarist, who has already produced her very first EP.

Aptly entitled “Where We’ll Start”, the EP was recorded and engineered by acclaimed Rustbelt Studios owner and Kid Rock engineer Al Sutton, and produced by popular Detroit guitarist and AMP Academy of Music Performance owner George Friend, who discovered Candace in one of his classes.

Candace’s love of music began when she asked for piano lessons at age 9. She had 2 years of piano under her belt when she eyed her brother's guitar, and asked to switch from keys to strings.

After only seven months of guitar lessons, Candace was already skilled enough to play complicated Santana songs. Dubbed a natural talent by her instructors, Candace competed in music competitions where she won top honors in her category. Candace also began to dabble in Blues guitar with Friend, who developed her skills of improvisation, and now blues is one of her favorite playing styles.

Candace’s talent lies not only in her vocal and guitar skills, but also in writing mature lyrics and music that belie her tender age. Like many young girls, she was influenced early on by pop stars The Jonas Brothers, but her tastes quickly developed into a love of guitar masters Steve Ray Vaughn, Stevie Wonder, and John Mayer – all of whom influence her songs.

Candace gained her first public acclaim at school talent shows, and at age 14, she was asked to join the band, "Live-the-Dash", an original pop-rock band. Candace was the lead singer, and one of two lead guitar players. They performed at many venues around Detroit, where she quickly developed a very natural stage personality.

She is currently working on several more original songs, that she plans to record at her home recording studio. She also has begun recording for other local musicians, as her skills at the mixing board are very impressive, too!
