Bio

Deon CleanCutt, a guitarist/band/producer from Washington D.C., has been making his mark around the D.C. area playing guitar in a variety of musical styles.

Deon started playing the guitar at the age of eight. As a teenager he performed in the"Summer in the Park Program", which showcased young talent in the metropolitan area, stunning listeners with an arsenal of tunes that ranged from Jazz to Blues to R&B.

 Deon has covered a lot of ground in all areas of music. He has produced several recordings for local artist. He was a musical instructor for a private school in Washington D.C...he was a guitar instructor for the Maryland Park and Planning Commission in Southern Maryland...and private instructor for several students throughout Washington, Maryland and Virginia.

Deon currently has three (3) CDs. The first, entitled "CleanCutt", is comprised of 10 original compositions. One of the selections, "Your World", (www.cdbaby.com/deon) received the Honorable Mention award in a nationwide song contest hosted by the SongWriters Association of Washington and has captured the attention of many music critics. The second CD, "I Like It" (www.cdbaby.com/cd/deon2), and has sparked national and international attention as well.

The third and most recent is titled "3'rd Round". Its has multiple forms of jazz in one great package. It showcases Deon's unique ability to perform in many styles as well as his great diversity. www.cdbaby.com/deoncleancutt

Deon has performed at the U.S. Capitol, The Kennedy Center, Ceasar's Palace,Blues Alley, jazz festivals and several major cable TV networks. Even though jazz is his favorite, he has performed in many genres of music, R&B, Country, Classical, Oldies, New School and Old School. Deon wrote and performed "live" the theme music to Red Astor's Cooking Video. He wrote the soundtrack for the "SunShine Show", a long running D.C. cable program. Made 2 TV apperances on "African American Lifestyle" where he performed with his band on 2 episodes.

 Deon produced CD's for various artist ( Debra Garner, Marsha Meekins, MUI..ect) where he not only arranged the music, but played guitar, trumpet and bass on many of the recordings, making him very versatile and in great demand.

Deon's Cleancutt style is soulful, melodic, tasteful and pleasing to the ear. Deon is a member of the Songwriter's Association of Washington (SAW), The Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), ASCAP and the DC Blues Society.
