Biography

KATE TODD possesses an affectionately charming & smoky vocal ~ add this to her cool, conversational lyric ~ multiply it by her ‘A List’ team of co-writers & musicians ~ equals the multi-talented artist KATE TODD. Kate is a genuine & charming small town girl, raised in Innisfil, ON, who's blessed with movie star looks and personality…literally and figuratively speaking. PenelopePR (CCMA / Open Road Records) accurately coined the phrase “KATE TODD is Canada’s newest country music sweetheart!” The largest Indie Record Label in the world, eOne Music (division of eOne Entertainment) signed Kate to a distribution deal March 2015, representing Kate's music catalog and focusing on new album, Anywhere With You.

Title track 'Anywhere With You' is more than just an ode to the ideal romantic relationship, it’s passionately hopeful tone could also be emblematic of the way Kate herself has plunged headlong into pursuing her musical dreams. “It’s about having such a deep connection to someone; such faith in them that you’d follow them anywhere. It requires the same kind of faith, passions and desires to follow dreams” said the popular actress & multi-talented country music sensation.

Kate’s love of singing and songwriting led to her first starring role, portraying Lily Randall, a free spirited teen singer/songwriter on the hit TV show ‘Radio Free Roscoe’.  Kate went on to star in Disney’s hit TV show/movie ‘My Babysitter's A Vampire’, Life With Derek, Degrassi, ‘Family Guy’, etc. The two media forms have continually intertwined throughout Kate's career, which led her to music licensing deals with the Disney and Showcase Networks. The impact of Kate's 'street cred' was heightened enormously with Kate's character role in the newest Assassin's Creed V:Unity - with sales of 75 million worldwide!

‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’ featuring guitar hero Jeff Healey, is Kate’s 5th national single release and her first music video. It's hard to believe, considering she has been in front of a camera for 13 years. Kate delivers a stunning performance that guarantees to excite the senses and confirm that 'country music artists are today's rock stars'!

The excitement continues in 2015 with Kate as an official YOUTH DAY Ambassador and a YOUTH DAY Toronto performance at Dundas Square in Toronto on July 5, 2015 and the Heritage Canada funded Flag of Canada 'Hometown Proud' appearances, starting with the Feb 12th launch. Flag of Canada 'Hometown Proud' Project will ultimately bring 30K youth singing 'O Canada' to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Flag. Kate rolls into 2015 as a director and spokesperson of the SIPO Foundation. SIPO is a non-profit charity which is focused on youth empowerment and integration into the world and workforce. Kate has shared her inspiring story with 1000’s of people, many of them being ‘youth’ at conferences like the 2014 ‘Power of Ideas Conference’ held at the ROM in May 2014.

Kate Todd's 1st 2014 project was featured on MTV. Nobel Peace Prize nominee, ‘World Academy of Arts, Literature and Media’ (WAALM), asked Kate Todd to be the "Voice of Canada" for one of the biggest musical projects for humanity in the world, singing on campaign song, "Walk In Style". Kate Todd was nominated by Mississauga Arts Council for 2 X 2014 and 2015 MARTY Awards.

After earning a 30K Factor Grant, Kate is working on her sophomore album “Anywhere With You” released in the spring 2015 and distributed by the largest Indie Record Label in the world eOne Entertainment. This multi talented recording artist has 2013 & 2014 nominations for the Country Music Association of Ontario's 'Rising Star' Award and 'Best Country Artist' at both the Toronto Independent Music Awards & Barrie New Music Awards. Kate’s debut album 'Finding My Way' was chosen as 'Best New Album of 2012' at the Radio Nation Music Awards.

Footprints On The Moon

Written By: K Todd; M Alexander; H Longstaffe

She grew like a flower
Now she’s pulling up her roots
She’s trading in those small town shoes for some astronaut boots
Her daddy says we'll miss you
Just don’t forget this place
You better send us back a postcard when you hit the Milky Way

Now the countdown has begun
And its 5 4 3 2 1

She’s gonna run into the sun
Breakthrough the atmosphere
Dance with the stars hang out on mars
Light-years away from here
She’s finding her place up there in space
She wont be back here soon
No she’s not going home
Until she leaves
Footprints on the moon

She’s waited for this moment
Since she was just a little girl
She knows there is something out there for her
That’s bigger than this world
Now she’s chasing down those comets
She’s going to catch them one by one
And she’ll get to where she’s going
If she can just hold on

She’s gonna run into the sun
Breakthrough the atmosphere
Dance with the stars hang out on mars
Light-years away from here
She’s finding her place up there in space
She wont be back here soon
No she’s not going home
Until she leaves
Footprints on the moon

You’ve come so far
You know who you are
Up so high but you can’t look down
If you fall get up
Got to keep your head up now

She’s gonna run into like the sun
Breakthrough the atmosphere

Dance with the stars hang out on mars
Light-years away from here
Finding her place up there in space
She wont be back here soon
No she’s not going home
Until she leaves
Footprints on the moon

Footprints on the moon

Ah yeah
Footprints on the moon

No she’s not going home
Until she leaves
Footprints on the moon

Drive

Written By: K Todd, M Alexander

Gas bar county line
Population 109
How did we end up here
Jimmy’s always flipping lids
Summer’s got another kid
Got to find a way out of here

Why are all these exit signs facing upside down
I guess we got lost somehow so let’s turn this car around

Drive
Leave them behind us
They’ll never find us
Drive
We’re both in the hot seat
Feeling our hearts beat
We’re almost across that line
Let’s get in the car and
Drive
Let’s get in the car and drive
Oh, Oh, Oh

Southbound 66 head rush desert kiss
We were born to run
We got everything we need baby it’s just you and me
Turn the wheels into the sun

Don’t know where we’re going but the destinations clear
We got the engine rolling now so let’s put this car in gear

Drive
Leave them behind us
They’ll never find us
Drive
We’re both in the hot seat
Feeling our hearts beat
We’re almost across that line
Let’s get in the car and
Drive

There’s a big blue sky looking down upon us
The road is open wide
We’re going to run so far that they’ll never find us
Baby I feel so alive
Let’s get in the car and drive
Let’s get in the car and drive

Why are all these exit signs
Facing upside down

Let’s do this

Drive
Leave them behind us
They’ll never find us
Drive
We’re both in the hot seat
Feeling our hearts beat
Drive
Ah yeah
Let’s get in the car and drive

Flying through Memphis next stop is Vegas
Almost across that line
Let’s get in the car and drive

Listen To Yourself

Written By: K Todd, M Alexander

1, 2
1, 2 3, 4

Sometimes things get rough
Some days you’re just not good enough

Many doors will be shut
Some stay closed but some open up

Listen to yourself
Keep pushing on
Listen to yourself
Keeps you strong
It’s time to make a stand
Your life is in your hands
So listen to yourself
You know
You know

Someday somebody’s going to let you down
They’ll work you over and push you around

But that’s just the way that it goes
There are so many questions but nobody knows

Listen to yourself
Keep pushing on
Listen to yourself
You can’t go wrong
Let them say what they will say
They don’t matter anywhere
So listen to yourself

One day the clouds will clear
The rainy days will disappear
You will find your place to shine
Someday when the stars align

Oh

It’s time to make a stand
Your life is in your hands
Just listen to yourself
Only you know

Listen to yourself
Keep pushing on
Listen to yourself
And you can’t go wrong
It’s time to make a stand
Your life is in your hands

So listen to yourself
You know (you know, you know)
Ooh you know
Let them say what they will say
They don’t know you anyway
Just listen to yourself

Only you know

(Things I) Never Should Have Said

Written By: K Todd, M Alexander, A.K Black

Before you came along
There was an empty space
Everything was wrong
I couldn’t find my place
And then you spoke to me
You acted so sincere
You told me everything
That I wanted to hear

I have never felt like this before
I should have walked right out that door

Now I’m taking back those things
That I never should have said
That I never should have said
I’m playing out those scenes
That are running through my head
You’re still running through my head

There wasn’t anything
That I wouldn’t do
You got the best of me
I got the worst of you
Oh I was in so deep
How could I be so blind
I guess I couldn’t see
That you would cross that line

So I’ll take the long way home
I’m going to make it on my own

I’m taking back those things
That I never should have said
That I never should have said
I’m playing out those scenes
That are running through my head
Still running through my head

Close your eyes now baby
Because you’re never going to see me again
Close your eyes now baby
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Close your eyes now baby
And say goodbye to me
Say goodbye to me

I’m taking back those things
That I never should have said
That I never should have said
I’m playing out those scenes
That are running through my head
You’re still running through my head

And I won’t cry anymore

I’m playing out those scenes
That are running through my head
You’re still running through my head

So I’m taking back those things
That I never should have said
That I never should have said

Finding My Way

Written By: K Todd, M Alexander

I jumped through a looking glass
The world around me flying past
I’m just learning to live this life

The wheels are spinning underneath
I don’t know where they're taking me
I’m just learning to live this life

The more I see the less I understand
The world outside is right there in my hand

Like a bird like a breeze
Like a road that’s following me
I’m still finding my way
Like the sun like a stone
Like the moon up there all alone
I’m still finding my way
I’m still finding my way

I don’t care if I get burned
Sometimes that’s the way you learn
You make mistakes when you’re young
I want to hitch across the galaxy
I want to find out what’s inside of me
I’m not stopping until I’m done

There’s an open highway right before my eyes
And I’ll keep on driving until I’m satisfied

Like a bird like a breeze
Like a road that’s following me
I’m still finding my way
Like the sun like a stone
Like the moon up there all alone
I’m still finding my way
I’m still finding my way

I may never find what I’m looking for
But I’ll keep on running through those open doors

Like a bird like a breeze
Like a road that’s following me
I’m still finding my way
Like the rain like a storm
Like a rose in a garden of thorns
I’m still finding my way
I’m still finding my way

Finding my way
I’m still finding my way
Yeah I’m finding my way
