"Ronnie Lott – Old Feels"

Texan rapper/songwriter/producer Ronnie Lott brought a pop sense to his cross-genre mix of rap and R&B. The San Antonio native channeled the smooth, sensitive tone of Drake, but with hints of the Weeknd’s mainstream savvy, Migos’ delivery, and Big Sean’s cadence also present. Formerly known as Rated R, Lott honed his craft in local groups before going solo with a series of mixtapes and LPs like Paradise and It’s Just Different.

His 2016 full-length, Nothing Is Forever, featured production from frequent collaborator J-Nice and included the single “Trophy,” which gained traction on online streaming charts upon release. - Rhys Durrell

"Ronnie Lott - Find Me"

Artist: Ronnie Lott

Song: Find Me

Based: Texas

If you like: Chris Brown, Jeremih

Having made it to the Audiotox homepage a total of 3 times in the past 6 months, Ronnie Lott is one of our favorite independent artists on the hip-hop scene.

Partly due to his incredible music and also his sexy jaw line (hello?) we love this dude.

Ronnie’s voice is chill, smooth and manly with just the perfect hint of softness to it. Think Chris Brown, Justin Bieber etc. That kind of slickness that makes the girls (and boys) go crazy, especially with lyrics like these.

‘Find Me’ is a track by Ronnie that was featured on Tommy boy’s compilation album for SXSW 2018. It starts off with a melodic percussive instrument that sounds like a cross between rain drops and wind chimes. Paired with a smooth sub bass, hip-hop drums and R&B style lyrics this song will appeal to listeners who are into the likes of Drake, Chris Brown and Jeremih. It would be good enough as an R&B vocal but the rap verse really takes it up to a new level. Check out the song below and also have a look at our previous posts on this urban gem. - Audiotox

"Texas emcee Ronnie Lott makes a strong advance with his debut project, Nothing is Forever"

San Antonio, TX – It’s not recently uncovered knowledge that current attention spans of listeners are shorter than ever. With multiple inputs and bombardments of stimulation from various social media platforms, artists are faced with the challenging obstacle of engaging an audience with only a mere few seconds of opportunity.

When San Antonio emcee Ronnie Lott released his 18-track album, Nothing is Forever he challenged the characteristically unmotivated listener with a full listening experience that requests them to stay with him longer than a couple moments. But under further consideration, and a full listen, listeners may find themselves pleasantly surprised (and engaged) with the project due to its’ variety of sounds. While he maintains strong bars on the project, his r&b influences help this project sway easily between genres, while dipping its’ toes in his multiple talents. Lott easily sings, raps, and builds his melodies with the same ease that guides listeners along the journey. The result is a confident project that doesn’t apologize for its’ length, but rather suggests that it’s the quality that sets it apart. We caught up with the rapper to talk about the album, his motivation as an artist, and why he feels like this album will put him a step above the rest. - @KIRAHUNSTON HipHop Canada

"TROPHY BY RONNIE LOTT"

Ronnie Lott’s song Trophy is worthy of an award. It’s so refreshing, in a sea of nonsense. It’s something that everyone can relate to, because everyone wants to be a winner, and this song expresses that on so many levels. In this song, Ronnie Lott comes across well, with singer rap style similar to that of Drake from Young Money. That is a huge compliment, being that Drake’s latest effort “Views” aka “Views from the 6” reached number one for three consecutive weeks, and has attained 572 million streams in the US. A comparison of this magnitude is not only a compliment, but it is a virtual guarantee that we can expect great things from Ronnie Lott! Outstanding! We are happy to support your efforts!

VMG had a moment with Mr. Trill to talk to him about the DOPE new single “Trophy” and more…

1. What keeps you motivate when it comes to your music?

My love for the instruments and the craft of putting together a song. I love being able to entertain a group of people with the stories that are in my head.

2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?

A great platform for emerging artist such as myself to be able to get our music out to a group of audience who has yet to discover us.

3) Being that you are from San Antonio, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?

San Antonio music scene is primarily Tejano music. There is a market for hip hop music because of the colleges and of course high school students who love that genre of music. I’m hoping that once I becoming internationally known that I can help increase the awareness of the hip hop movement.

4) With your most recent music single “Trophy” is DOPE, I Really Like It… can you give us some details on how you came up with the song?
I wanted to make a song that paid respect to the hardworking female out there who takes there position seriously in whatever it is that they do whether you are a model, CEO, of a house mom, because of your dedication and work ethic, you deserve a trophy for your accomplishments.

5) Where can your fans & supporters find you online? Via Twitter, Facebook, etc.?

I can be located at the following:

Twitter – @Ronnielottmusic
Instagram – @imsorated
SnapChat – @imsorated
Facebook – Ronnie Lott Music

6) Who are some of your influences?

While that’s a list that will take days but I will sum it up with a few people:

1. Morris Day
2. Prince
3. Kanye West

7) Any Last Remarks?”

Thanks for the opportunity and look for my new album titled “Nothin Is Forever” to be released in July. Make sure all you fans contact me via one of my social media outlets and I will definitely reply. - Vintage Media Group

"Ronnie Lott - "Call On Me""

On "Call On Me," the latest musical offering from Ronnie Lott, it's impossible not to hear echoes of contemporary references like Drake and The Weekend. However, despite drawing upon this near-ubiquitous pop culture icons, Lott distills a sound entirely his own in the process, immediately more accessible and polished than his peers. From a production perspective, "Call On Me" is equal parts hypnotic, disorienting synths and lock-tight beats. Overall, the end result is clean and well produced without any of the excessively glossy artifice found on the majority of current Top 40 rap songs. - Leks Maltby

"Ronnie Lott - Racks"

What Inspired You To Make This Song? - I wanted to make a summer time type dance/party song to get everyone off their feet and on the dance floor.
Are You Working On Any New Projects?
Yes
If Yes, Tell Us About The Project
Currently working with more producers from both America & Europe in order to captivate that industry style that will get me the attention of the major labels and A&R. I feel like I’m the best kept secret here in my home town & state but I’m definitely a top 100 artist!
Who Are Your Musical Influences?
Where do I began, as far as artist, There are too many to name but I will give you a few, Morris Day, James Brown, Roger Troutman, R Kelly, Sean Combs, Biggie Smalls, Drake etc. As far as producers I must say that’s a longer list since I do produce some of my music as well and there isnt enough time or space to list, Just know all the great producers have a major influence on my craft.

Independent Or Major – What Are Your Goals?
Simple, to sign to a major label and establish my own sub label team and MAKE HISTORY! I’m trying to have my name amongst he stars and great ones of All Time. - Indie Speaks

"Ronnie Lott is Rated-R"

RONNIE LOTT
The new generation of music is a jungle of competition. Nascent voices and pioneers are in a race to produce the newest sounds in the music industry. Ronnie Lott a.k.a R-rated is a new name on the rise. The 23 year-old from San Antonio, Texas gained interest in music from a young age. His father had influenced him through the top hits of the 70’s and 80’s.
As an artist himself, he also aspires to become a producer through hip-hop, R&B and EDM. Artists such as Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Marvin Gaye have been his influence throughout life and aspires to be remembered as one of the greats just as they are. Eventually he hopes to work with major labels and work with other artists our in Australia and Europe.
His family, friends, and first few fans continue to be his biggest supporters and hopes that more and more will discover his music. At this time, he’s come out with 2 albums and 2 mix tapes (It’s Just Different, East 2). Find his music @iamsorated
Q: Can you give us an introduction about yourself? Where you’re from, what your hobbies are, and anything interesting that people would like to know.
My name is Ronnie Lott hip hop/r&b recording artist from San Antonio Texas. Since I been involved in music I haven’t really had the time to pick up any hobbies although I do like watching movies I am a movie guy and also art has really interested me from time to time when I’m taking a break from the studio I like to go to local art galleries, I find it very therapeutic. I feel like art runs parallel with music so we have a lot in common.
Q: Why did you choose to go for the music industry? Did you know how competitive it was?
I came from a musical background growing up. Most of my family are musicians mainly my father who was very instrumental in introducing music to me. Watching him play various instruments in various funk and soul bands really intrigued me and since then I’ve been in love with the music industry.
I had a sense of how competitive the music industry would be since there’s a tremendous amount of talent around the world. But I am a competitive guy so I look forward to the challenges that I am going to face, not only in the present, but in the future as well. I’ve figured out a small piece in the midst of my journey to be successful in this industry and that is to have a lot of heart and a strong mind. The industry is like the jungle, everybody is fighting to eat and if you don’t have the heart of a lion you will be left to starve.
Q: Your biggest inspirations? From when you were a kid and now.
My biggest inspirations when I was a kid definitely had to be Johnny Juliano, Morris day and the time, Kanye west, and Ryan Leslie.
Now as a young adult I would say my biggest inspiration is to be an inspiration to my fans and youth around the world.
Q: Growing up, did you want to be anything else besides being an artist?
As a kid I did have what we call back home “hoop dreams”. Which is admirations of playing basketball on the collegiate level and possibly beyond. My father with being a musician was a basketball coach for over 30 years for San Antonia’s inner city school district. so music and basketball was all I knew. Being young and in grade school…basketball seemed to be the most logically choice to pursuit so that’s what I was focused on that time.
Q: What struggles do you face as an upcoming artist? Any upside to being one?
There’s many struggles when your up and coming just like anything else. I would say the hardest part of it all is getting people to take you seriously and actually listen to your craft. In this day and time people think you can just wake out of bed one morning and decide to rap or compose music and that’s not necessarily the case. The local circuit of music is filled with those type of artist and they lack the substance that us few artist do have and poison people’s ideology on local music. So fighting that is a major struggle.
Another struggle I would say is balancing my personal life with my music life. The music life requires me to be able to travel on spot, put in a lot of work after hours, constantly on the go or in the studio, so trying to have a normal life at times outside of that can be conflicting.
Q: If you could collaborate with any musician or artist in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
I would love to have a collaborative trio album with Aaliyah and Biggie Smalls and have Noah “40” Shebib, Timbaland, and Missy Eliotte produce it. That would be classic.
Q: What are your future goals? Where do you see yourself in a year from now? 10 years?
A year from now I see myself grabbing the attention of more talent reps and also a couple of performances at major events. 10 years from now I see myself as the biggest pop icon in music with a couple of Grammys on the shelf.
Q: For new listeners, where can we hear your music? Do you have a soundcloud or a personal website with your music uploaded?
My music can be heard both at soundcloud (www.soundcloud.com/ronnielott) & reverbnation (www.reverbnation.com/rated1).
Q: What do you consider your genre as? Strictly rap? Hip-hop? A mix of both?
I would say a mix of both but I try to not to let the word genre squeeze me in a box when it comes to creating music.
Q: Any other interesting facts about you that no one really knows about?
I’m just a workaholic. Every month I’m trying to travel to a different part of the country and gain a sense of music that region and trying to incorporate it somehow into what it is that I’m doing so that I can continue to give music lovers what it is that they like and ultimately gain new fans across the globe so if you are a music lover and you come across my music just know that there is a part of your origin in my work.

"Roc Nation seeking new talent for management consideration"

What's going on man, Good Stuff brotha, Just keep grinding and Put ALOT of content online, videos and do shows etc... so you can build a fanbase. A Huge fanbase is pretty much the normal procedure in getting signed now to a major label outside of just having pure talent. Once again good stuff homie and keep up the good work.
Can't use currently but we're keeping this one on file for future reference.

"Ronnie Lott — Like I Do / I Just Came Here [Hip-hop, R’n’B, EDM]"

When you try to "sit on all chairs" - track tracks new artists working in different genres it is not surprising that some things just fall out of sight, but then, when you find them - this is without doubt pleases. About the existence of the artist Ronnie Lott, I learned just a few days, and his single «Like I Do / I Just Came Here» repite drive on and I like how this native of Texas using hip-hop and R'n'B foundation uses EDM pickups . It turns out very easy dance music that I want to listen to again and again.
We need to find extended version and play them at parties. The fact that «I Just Came Here» great work on the dance floor - not even doubt it. - Mishka DJ

"Ronnie Lott – All Pro"

Artist: Ronnie Lott

Song: All Pro

Based: Texas

Stands out: Vocal tone

A few weeks ago we posted a track by the young artist Ronnie Lott. Today we’re bringing you another one.

The talented rapper has blessed us with ‘All Pro’ which is a follow up to his previous single ’14th Ave’. It’s dark and heavy hip-hop with sick vocals, sick lyrics and a sick beat. What more could you ask for? This dude’s tone is incredible too which is what we really look for when deciding whether to blog about a track or not.

We firmly believe Ronnie Lott has the potential to be a household name on the same scale as Drake and Big Sean. Go give him the support he deserves. - Audiotox

Bio

Texan rapper/songwriter/producer Ronnie Lott brought a pop sense to his cross-genre mix of rap and R&B. The San Antonio native channeled the smooth, sensitive tone of Drake, but with hints of the Weeknd's mainstream savvy, Migos' delivery, and Big Sean's cadence also present. Formerly known as Rated R, Lott honed his craft in local groups before going solo with a series of mixtapes and LPs like Paradise and It's Just Different.

His 2016 full-length, Nothing Is Forever, featured production from frequent collaborator J-Nice and included the single "Trophy," which gained traction on online streaming charts upon release.
