Bio

Hip hop is everywhere in 2014. Mainstream media has it in everything from fast food ads to day cares. Every country has their own Hip hop scene and every city has their favorites. With the growth of the culture and the availability of low cost recording equipment, many have taken the path to be an emcee, but not many actually have "star quality". This is NOT the case with Belico and Team BlackOp. Coming from a musical household, BlackOp founder Jayson "Belico" Hawkins has had a mic in hand since he can remember. Being the son of a former Kansas City Blues Radio personality and R&B front man, Uncle Belic ( as his friends call him) has been writing music since 1994. Moving to Kansas City from Southern California , Belic attended Paseo Academy and be-friended now Strange Music signee Godemis of Ces Cru, Belico traveled around Kansas Cities underground battle scene for a few years.Fine tuning his skills under the Simile Assembly and Ces Cru. After moving from K.C, Belic lived in Chicago, Texas and back in California before finally settling in Southern Oregon with his young family. Joined by his brother and close friends ,he created BlackOp. After only one group album they split and Belico went forth with his solo career. Taking few battles but gaining the interest of local Dj's, he booked himself shows around the Rogue ValleyOregon and built himself a new name. In 2010 after losing both his parents, and undergoing several trying times,The Black Op buckled down and re-invented himself. Getting a few videos to his name and a dozen albums at the time, he sought out to re-create Team BlackOp. Doing shows in California and Portland/Vancouver. taking the reigns Belico then decided it was time to introduce a "Game changer". He then got with long time friend and K.C area Dj and Fuzion Four record label owner Aaron Waters to create the Sub-Label Hybrid Fuzion Digital/ BlackOp Recordings. Then to continue in the fashion of striking while the iron is hot, Hip Hop Woodstock was created. Making Fox news and the Mail Tribune ,the show introduced Belico and BlackOp into the world of show promotion. The next step was to gain some solid following so with the help of a few other Emcees the "Watch the West and Home Invasion" Tours were created and booked. Visiting 4 states and featuring a dozen + independent emcees. BlackOp has either thrown or graced the stage of 300+ shows, and been responsible for nearly 100,000's of plays on Soundcloud, Youtube, Vimeo and local FM radio.Operating as a fulling fuctioning label, Hybrid Fuzion/BlackOp has: Video production, Photography, original track production and engineering, graphic design, management and promotion. Attracting the attention of Konvict music, Universal as well as others in 2012 and 2013, 2014 is looking VERY promising for Belico and Team BlackOp to say the very least.Belico just finished his latest national tour, the Mad Panda Tour with ThatKidCry. A 16 stop, 4 state tour completely backed by the emcees themselves. April 16,2014 Belico released his project: The Diamond Album. To celebrate BlackOp's 10 year anniversary.  On December 12, 2014 Belico dropped his latest album the "Arkham Operative" and set the Guinness World Record of Most live performances in 24 hour. Which was all filmed, and streamed live.
