Besides Daniel

Besides Daniel is an independent folk band from Atlanta, Georgia. Embarking in 2001 as a solo project, the effort grew organically into a duo, and currently appears as a full band including but not limited to drums, bass, violin, keys, sax, banjo, glockenspiel, ect. Writing songs about family, faith, pain, and the south Besides Daniel aims to inspire love, beauty, truth, and creativity.

Singer-songwriter and music school dropout, Danny Brewer (acoustic guitar, vocals) stands as the creative force behind Besides Daniel. Other members include Ryan Roberston (bass) and Aaron Schorch (drums) as well as their their fantastic friends who volunteer their time and talent. A live show could include an eclectic accompaniment of various instruments including sax, cello, violin, melodica, banjo, accordion, and whatever else is close at hand.

Besides Daniel is inspired by great songwriters like Bob Dylan, Sufjan Stevens, Nick Drake, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Elliott Smith, Conor Oberst, and Samuel Beam (Iron & Wine), as well as bands like Sigur Ros, Radiohead, and Arcade Fire. At home in the hot, humid summers, chilly winters, and otherwise perfect southern metropolis of Atlanta, you'll hear a bit of the south ring through in their repertoire.
