""Bostonia" Album Review"

For local trio Blind Man Leading, they certainly know how to do it right. Or at least so says their latest EP, “Bostonia,” a quick and expertly crafted power-pop set that has no problems staying within the limits of what it knows best. In some cases, that unwillingness to experiment could lead others to pen absurdly bland tracks, though here, Dave Wentz, Tyler Wheeler and Paul Mercer use their bounds wisely as they offer just enough subtlety within each song to prove that they are far more than a mere one-trick pony...
Tasteful is probably the key word in this entire equation, if only for how clear it becomes that Blind Man Leading know exactly how to present it on a record.

"Bostonia Release Announcement"

The Bostonia EP is the reinvention of Baltimore pop-rock group Blind Man Leading. From late summer through October of last year, the four piece recorded their first electric studio project at Mobtown Studios, tracking together for the first time. Engineer/producer/drummer, Paul Mercer recorded and mixed the 5 tracks in-house, with mastering by Mat Leffler-Schulman.
The sound emphasizes emotive images and stories while contrasting those themes energetic drum patterns, bright-edged guitars, a humming cello, and melodic bass lines. Within the rhythmic and harmonic structures, a subtle jazz influence surfaces throughout. BML recently partnered with “International Justice Mission”, a non-profit that fights human trafficking throughout the world, and part of the proceeds from album sales will go to this great cause. The group plays regionally in the MD/ VA/ PA area, and the tracks are available now on iTunes and CD Baby. Keep on the look-out for a bangin’ EP release party! - Mobtown Studios

"Bostonia EP review"

A growth on their signature sound with fresh songwriting married with sonic surprises, dazzling arrangements, and mature performances.

Short but sweet, this is the kind of EP you put on a loop. It leaves you with a healthy amount of appetite and curiosity when it's done. It's concise but thick with subtlety, and my impression is that there is something interesting lyrically or sonically that I need to go back and catch again with more attention. - Cdbaby user review

"Blind Man Leading= Awesome!"

Great follow-up to their previous album! Just saw these guys live in Westminster, Maryland. They mesh contemplative lyrics with a smooth indie/pop/jazz feel with a "sick" addition of violin.

This is real music. I'm talking music that you can tell just poured out of the songwriter. Great songs with catchy melodies yet still honest music that comes from life events. Five star work, this band has a future. - facedown41

Following up with the Swords EP in late August of 2013 (also out of Mobtown), their newest studio project has been well-received and described as a project which "...keeps blossoming to the very end with color even as the instrumentation becomes more intimate at the end...totally positive vibes." -Keith Adams, Director, Baltimore School of Rock.
