BOSS Champs is someone to be on the lookout for in the near future.


“International Commodity” the album is coming soon. Having been anticipated for a while now, details regarding the sonics are that it will embody a hybrid of sounds from dancehall, pop, tropical hip hop, Afrobeat and more in between.


Following slight delays, the wait is over and worth it - “Like You” artist BOSS Champs is buoyant gearing up to unleash his debut album that many have been anticipating.

Speaking to Remixd Mag, the vivacious “Hollywood Hills” showman was in high spirits announcing the album exclusively:


"'International Commodity' was inspired by the last two years of my life," he says. "As I believe in #livingthelyrics, I pull from personal experiences often.“ BOSS Champs explained this to us before mentioning how the charismatic title of the project came about from a real-life experience.


"The name of the project was inspired by a woman I was working with over the summer that worked in the field of commodities trading internationally," he explained. "After experiencing my music and my impact including the reactions of people dancing to my songs in several countries globally.... She started referring to me as an 'International Commodity.' This would also make sense as I was to start performing internationally as well."


He goes on to state the value to live fully in 2021 was paramount to the album as partial reason to the album dropping in 2022. He also wants fans to live with the album next year, he told Remixd Mag.


The single "Control Freaks" will set the tone for the project with an audio and visual set to launch the project.


Hailing from Independence City, Jamaica – internationally renown BOSS Champs – real name Nico East – has been consistently releasing music, globe-trotting, performing and touring and in a multitude of countries.


The album encapsulates the experiences BOSS Champs has grossed in these regions with the people in all facets; romance, intimacy, sexuality, party life, and more supplementary themes.


BOSS' genre-bending and ground-breaking style has been likened to artists such as Tupac, Saint Jhn, Jidenna, Shaggy, Tory Lanez, just to name a few - and this does not bother him, more so it appreciates his artistic diversity and range.

"People have described it as Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop, R and B, Afrobeat," he said. "And that's fine as I aim to tell stories with whatever sound moves me most. As I have been impacted by them all. However people receive it and categorize it is fine by me. I've been compared to Jidenna, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Tory Lanez, Saint Jhn, Tupac and Heavy D. - Remind Magazine
