B-Phraze

As a graduate of Tennessee State University, B-Phraze has utilized his degree in mass communications by working for local TV stations but never imagined that his rap skills would be broadcasted all across the globe.

As a 12 year old kid intrigued by the theme song from the hit TV show, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", B-Phraze memorized the lyrics after watching the show for the very first time and began writing his own original lyrics shortly after. It wasn't until his junior year in college when B-Phraze began to take rap as a possible career option, after putting together a CD that captured a glimpse of his college experience. After being featured on various mix-tapes, B-Phraze officially embarked on his musical journey in 2005 after the release of his first solo project entitled "Stay Tuned" which was produced by his cousin and 2013 Grammy Award Nominee Johnathan "YPJ" Miller. The song 2nd Letter from that album, delivered B-Phraze a first runner up spot, in the hip-hop category of the 2005 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Since then, B-Phraze has continued to develop his craft by releasing two mix-tapes titled "For Entertainment Purposes Only and Pardon The Interruption. In 2012, he was one of the headlining artists at the "Megakidz" Conference in Dallas Texas, hosted by Bishop TD Jakes. That opportunity prompted Phraze to broaden his horizon's by  writing and producing a children's hip hop CD titled "Remember That", which focused on such topics as bullying, self-esteem, and true friendship. He is currently constructing a children's book series based off of that album. His YouTube channel has nearly 5 million views largely due to the success of his rap parodies with cousin and fellow rap artist Million. The success of those parodies landed the duo an agreement with Comcast On Demand to air the videos nation-wide and also delivered Phraze the leading role in the pilot cartoon series "Hip-Hop Fables" that was pitched to PBS and other networks.

In addition to spreading his positive message at colleges, churches, juvenile centers and community events nationwide, B-Phraze's music can also be found on various internet platforms and has been shared across such mediums as print, radio, and TV. In a genre saturated with lyrics that often glorify drugs, violence, and negativity, B-Phraze hopes that his thought provoking lyrics and style accomplishes his mission to "Be A Light Through Lyric".
