"Five Minutes With Brent Byrd"

Eclectic Singer/Songwriter, Brent Byrd is hitting Nashville for some serious showcases and good times.

Why Nashville?

I’ve never been much of a follower and there are tons of really good musicians that head to Nashville with the hopes and dreams of being a full time musician. I’ve been building a good fan base throughout the Southeast and Midwest over the past 2 years and I’ve kind of avoided Nashville because of that reason but I think it was inevitable. I mean, it is ” Music City” so of course I finally had to throw myself right in the fire and I love it. The vibe, the scene, the musicians, the food, not so much the heat but being around all these musicians just makes me strive to be a better musician. (note- Brent, it is not usually this hot, but, the humidity is good for your guitar and makes for fluid playing and good vocal chords! Ha!- The Nashville sound!) - The Nashville Bridge

"The Drifting Minstrel"

“Adapting an acoustic solo style, his scruffy voice can be likened to a deeper Bob Dylan. His music overall is similar to Jack Johnson with less eclectic lyrics. There aren’t “bubble toes” to be in had in Byrd’s tunes, but they possess the same beachy vibe.” - Encore Online

"Singer/Songwriter Brent Byrd 'Peaceful Rebel Man' on the move"

Brent Byrd has gone many miles in his relatively short life towards becoming the musician he is growing into. Influenced heavily by artists from the past, Brent is walking in their footsteps towards trying to change the world's view through song. From his 'beachy' songs with underlining political satire to his direct lyrical punches, Brent's view hits you in a way that makes you want to be a better person and stand up for what you believe. - Mi2N

""THE PEACEFUL REBEL MAN""

Brent Byrd is unapologetically positive. His is a soundtrack well-suited for a sun-soaked summer day — windows down and grooving. - Rachel Bardin Drift Magazine

"What's the WORD? ... BRENT BYRD & THE SUITCASE GYPSIES perform at the Sing Out Loud Festival"

Though the band’s name is a little on the nose (we get it: y’all are wanderers, like bards of old) the music is anything but typical. St. Augustinian Byrd is in that niche of singer-songwriters who have stories like music in their veins; we were particularly impressed by his tight musicianship married to a growly, soft-at-the-edges voice.
