"Q&A: Bushwood on Reuniting, & Having Dennis Rodman as a Fan"

Throughout the past year, Fort Lauderdale-based reggae rock act Bushwood has taken over dive bars and boat docks from Delray Beach all the way down to the Keys. Band breaks and experimentation with acoustic performances used to make the Bushwood experience more like an after-work gig, but more recently, the trio is in high demand. These days, they're playing a bevy of bars and venues looking for feel-good tunes, especially with lots of long, sticky summer nights ahead. After a recent boom of success, the band decided to hit the studio to work on a little something for fans to take home at the end of the night.

Steve Voronkov (guitar/lead vocals), Adam Moskowitz (bass/backup vocals) and Jon Cross (drums and percussion) produced a light and fresh soundtrack complementary to the tropical climate. Instrumental artistry shines through on the self-titled album's first track, "Red & White," featuring Voronkov's soft vocals contrasted by his passionate electric axe-shredding. Moskowitz's timed bass vibrations add depth to the foundation when paired with Cross' simplicity in the form of dub beats. Funked out island jam favorites like "Flomanja" and more introspective tracks like "Open Up Your Eyes," an intimate breakup ballad, are easy definitions of what Bushwood music is all about.

The band took a well-developed trip into the studio, documenting their recorded journey via Twitter before sending their baby off to St. Augustine and into the hands of a mixmaster called Dirty. But, the new release is as clean as could be, a guiltless pleasure to spark up or wine down with on the back porch or overlooking the water. New Times caught up with bassist Adam Moskowitz to talk about the record's influences, their love for South Florida and their new celeb fan, Dennis "The Worm" Rodman.

New Times: So, Bushwood reunited and came back with a bang last year. What was the motivational force behind your reunion?

Adam Moskowitz: Well, we discovered that we really loved playing our acoustic guitars. We started getting interest from different types of venues that didn't necessarily appreciate drummers and the decibels that came with a drum set. So, Steve and I started playing acoustic gigs around town, and what came out was improved musicianship and a deepening of our song catalogue.

And, since returning to the stage, the band has been dominating Broward County.
A few months into last year, we got back together with our drummer Jon Cross, who had been enjoying the time away from the stage, but was definitely getting the itch to play live again. As fun and challenging as playing acoustic was and still is, there's really nothing like getting back up there as a trio. tI feels like home. So we booked our comeback show at the Poor House in Fort Lauderdale and the rest is history.

You were recently rewarded with a rare Dennis Rodman cameo at one of your gigs. Do share.

Haha, what a weird Sunday evening that was. We were playing at this place Shooters/Bootleggers in Fort Lauderdale, and were halfway into our first set when we heard some chatter from friends -- they thought they might have spotted Mr. Rodman in the crowd. Naturally, there was a bikini contest by the pool right before we took the stage. We're jamming along, as we do, and next thing we know, Hall of Famer NBA star Dennis Rodman struts over with his posse. At first, we were kind of like 'What the fuck?' We gave him a shout out on the mic, then he proceeded to come up on stage, shake our hands, and reciprocate the shout out into the mic, and then asked us to play something "funky." We busted out the last track on our debut album, "Flomanja" which is a serious funk-rock jam vehicle, and The Worm was feelin' it! After that song, he requested some Sublime, and we obviously obliged.

Great segue there. So, tell us a little bit about the debut album. Why did you decide to take things into the studio?

Since I joined Bushwood in the summer of 2009, we've been constantly writing songs. We have about two albums worth of material, and we decided it was time to give our fans something tangible -- something they could throw on and let bump through the summer, and forever really. It's something for the car, the boat, the iPod. We had previously recorded an acoustic EP last summer, but since I had joined the band, we didn't have anything traditional with my bass on it. Now we do.

How did you choose the album's material?

We went in and recorded our 10 favorite songs, including a brand new one called "In Control" that we played together in the studio for the first time. The cut that made the album was actually our third take, and you can hear the freshness of it on the recording. When you hear the album, you feel like you're in the room with us, and that was completely our intention. We wanted to invite you in.

And you used social networking to track the album's recording?

"Right By The Beach: Bushwood’s Debut Album Drops"

Bushwood is a name that’s been on South Florida’s tongue for quite some time. Now, it’s as loud as ever. After a seven-month hiatus, Bushwood is back in high gear with a brand new studio album. The self-titled work features ten wonderfully produced original tunes that draw from the undeniable beach-party vibe Miami is known for worldwide.

Bassist Adam Moskowitz thought it was high time for the Bushwood album.

“We decided it was time to give our fans something tangible. Something they could throw on and let it bump and sing and jam along with all summer,” said Moskowitz.

Objectively speaking, the album is of a similar vein to Sublime or Slightly Stoopid, though it sits on another end of the reggae/rock spectrum with it’s funkier feels on tunes like “Flomanja,” or more radio-friendly sound on tunes like “Drop The Anchor.”

Yet there’s still something else that sets it apart from other reggae/rock trios (of which there are many). Listening to the album a few times over, I’m still not sure what that thing is. The closest I can get is how it feels so much like… home, I guess. It brings me back to high school when all there was to life were friends and parties.

The album as a whole goes down like smooth rum served out of a hollowed out melon beneath the shade of a surf side tiki hut (see picture to the right).

Most importantly, “Bushwood” serves the group as a strong anchor point for the band to build upon. Perhaps it’s too early to think too far into the future, but I am already wondering what the trio has in store for us in times to come.

On a selfish note, it’s kind of nice that Bushwood isn’t taking off across the states to promote their new album, so we have plenty of opportunities to catch them live in the motherland of sun, surf and sultry women.

The album was released two days ago (5/20) when the band played a 3 set show at the Bierbrunnen Beer Garden in Ft. Lauderdale. You can get Bushwood’s self-titled debut album for $7 – $9 online, but you can pick up a CD from the band with artwork for $5 at any of their upcoming shows (see Bushwood’s official website for a schedule of dates).

As has always been my personal philosophy, music is best served live. And Bushwood is best known for being a live band. That said, get yourself over to a show and dig your toes into the sands of their sound.

"Bushwood South Florida reggae/rock band"

Fort Lauderdale based Bushwood band has been steadily making its mark on the South Florida music scene. The reggae rock trio has created a unique sound that weaves hypnotic reggae grooves tinged with funk and rock influences. Adam Moskowitz (bass/background vocals), Steve Voronkov (guitar/lead vocals) and Jon Cross (drums and percussion) have created a sound that reflects the laid back/party vibes of their South Florida home. Heavy bass lines over a funky reggae beat laced with bluesy guitar solos, almost compel the listener to get up and dance. Bushwood was formed in 2008 and since then, the band has performed at venues throughout South Florida, gaining new fans along the way.

The band released their self-titled debut album in May 2011. The 10 song CD touches on a range of genres that the band has skillfully and soulfully blended to create their signature sound. Reggae, funk, classic and southern rock influences are cleverly woven together to create a delightful sound that reflects the tropical and carefree South Florida environment. The album was recorded at Contrast Recording Studio in Boca Raton and tracked by recording engineer Richard Salino. The project was mixed and mastered by Eric 'Dirty' Kaufman who works with the Fish Tank studios in St Augustine Florida. The album is available on iTunes, CD Baby and Bandcamp. Lovers of the reggae/rock sound are sure to enjoy this well crafted record.

The band is working hard to promote the album and have been making appearances across South Florida. They are set to appear at the Titanic Brewery and Restaurant in Coral Gables on August 19, this will give Miami fans a chance to experience the Bushwood sound. On August 26 the band will perform at The World of Beer in Coconut Creek. They move on to the prestigious Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale on September 24. Fans should grasp the opportunity to experience Bushwood ‘live’ at one of these events. They will certainly not disappoint. "Album Review: Bushwood by Bushwood"

Bushwood (Bushwoodband.com)
"Red and White" kicks off Bushwood, the Fort Lauderdale band's self-titled debut album, with what can only be described as the sort of light funk endemic to 1970s porn films. Happily for both the band and the listener, the song is a microcosm of the album itself, picking up steam and improving in musicality throughout until it leaves on a high note. Recurring themes in this reggae-rock effort include women, weed and anything beach-related -- sun, ocean, sand and so on. But Bushwood isn't trying to change the world with these lyrics -- there's none of the political or social themes so prevalent in the songs of the roots-reggae artists from which the band draws some of its inspiration. No, Bushwood is more concerned with a hazy, blurred, sand-under-your-feet party than serious sociopolitical commentary, but hey, even a vicious political animal like Peter Tosh took plenty of time away from slinging brickbats at the shitstem to play ketchy shuby and legalize it. Still, by "Drop the Anchor" and "In Control," the fifth and sixth songs respectively, I couldn't help but yearn for something thematically other than the same sun-and-fun lines.
But within that limited range, the album improved song after song, closing with "Flomanja," a five-minute instrumental jam that goes from a bouncing, bubbly intro to a scorching guitar meltdown. Tellingly, with the absence of vocals, it's the best song on the album, which again suggests that a broadening of lyrical themes and an improvement in lyricism in general would do wonders for the band. At it's best, the group sounds like Sublime if you removed almost all of the punk influences and replaced them with even more reggae. At it's worst, it falls into light funk cliches that, as mentioned, are best suited to Debbie Does Dallas. But the good moments more than outweigh the bad, resulting in an album suitable for play over the PA system at beachside tiki bars everywhere.

"Why I Love To Slappa Da Bass"

In essence, every instrument is a paintbrush on the canvas of sound. My brush happens to manifest in the form of the bass guitar. I first picked up the bass at 15, and I’ve been playing gigs for almost as long. I haven’t kept count, but there have been a lot of ‘em. Most of those gigs have been great. Some have been pretty incredible. And, some have been downright shitty, and have made me question why the hell I ever wanted to be a performing musician in the first place was. But, once in a while, one of those gigs comes along when everything just comes together. You know the kind of gig I’m talking about; the vibe is just perfect. The energy in the room is palpable. The band is firing on all cylinders, and the audience is reflecting that energy right back. Playing your instrument becomes a transcendent experience.

And at that peak moment, you realize, This is it. This is what I live for. This is why I play. It doesn’t matter what else is going on in your world. Your chaotic route to the show, your boring ‘day’ job – all of those things are redirected to the who-gives-a-shit part of your brain.? At that moment, you’re serving your purpose. The music is manifesting itself through your body and truly nothing else matters. Your spirit soars and everything just feels right in the world. That is the power of the gig. I love playing gigs. Nothing else makes me feel more alive, more vital, more relevant.

As for the bass, I love the way it sounds, the way it feels, the way it looks. I love the way it makes the stage rumble. I love how anyone in the room can feel it in their heart. The guitar can make pretty melodies that tickle your ear, but the bass can actually vibrate your entire body. I really like that physical thing. The bass guitar is such an amazing voice – unassuming and humble, yet so powerful in its foundation.

As for the fans, It’s generally implied, but it needs to be said that without you out there in the crowd supporting live local music, these feelings don't exist. It is a circle of energy – you feed off us – we feed off of you. So thank you, and thank you music.

Adam Moskowitz is the bassist in Fort Lauderdale, FL-based reggae fusion trio BUSHWOOD. His favorite gigs usually involve jamming out with sand between his toes.

"The DubSide Top 10 Albums Of 2011"

#6 – Bushwood Self Titled

In early 2011 a three-piece reggae band from South Florida released their debut album. Bushwood encompasses what it feels like to be near the water with the sun on your face. Fun times, good vibes and of course great music. We haven’t heard the last from Bushwood.

“Paradise” - The DubSide

"Bushwood: Bushwood Album Review"

Hailing from Fort Lauderdale Florida, Bushwood is an up-and-coming band that mixes traditional reggae vibes with their own funk and rock style. Guitarist and vocalist Steve Voronkov, bassist and vocalist Adam Moskowitz, and drummer Jon Cross released their self-titled debut album, Bushwood, back in April of 2011. This album displays the band’s originality, blending reggae, funk, and rock into one cohesive style.

The album kicks off with “Red and White,” which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Right off the bat, you are hit with an energetic drum beat and hot guitar licks that don’t ever let up. Next comes a reggae song with a great build-up into an amazing solo, “By the Water.” This love song about wanting to be with a girl down by the water also has a very laid back and summer vibe to it. Another song off of Bushwood that without a doubt captures the carefree mood of summer is “Drop the Anchor.” The presence of an acoustic guitar is calming, the chorus about the beach and friends is very catchy, and of course some amazing guitar solos makes this one of the best songs on the album.
Another high point on Bushwood’s debut album is “In Control.” This song starts off with some funky guitar chords, calms down into a very simple, yet catchy reggae tune, and finishes by matching the energy of the beginning of the song. In addition, the snare drum is brought in perfectly in time with a beautiful guitar solo which will get your head bouncing. Bushwood then calms down a bit and shows how reggae can express a wide range of emotions and feelings with their song “Ramblin’ Soul.” The emotion-filled vocals, soothing guitar riffs, and arrangement of the song create a very calm and somber mood.
After showing off their emotional side, Bushwood kicks the energy back up and close out the album with their lighthearted funky reggae instrumental “Flomanja,” which captures every style that they play. It starts off with a bouncy reggae beat that merges into funk flawlessly, slows down with some groovin’ reggae chords, and finishes off with rock n‘ roll solos and drums.
With reggae, rock, and funk so seamlessly intertwined, Bushwood’s debut album leaves high expectations for the future. It shows that each member of the band is full of talent and it presents a niche sound for these Fort Lauderdale boys. Having already written some very catchy tunes, I look forward to watching Bushwood’s bright future unfold.

"Local Spotlight: Bushwood"

Devotees of the chilled out laid-back sentiment that pervades the very fabric of life in South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale-based reggae band, Bushwood, has excelled where many other acts have failed: painting a vivid portrait of where we live and depict some aesthetically beautiful soundscapes through their verses and their atmospherically vivid instrumentation. Vocalist Steven Ross Voronkov, bassist and backing vocalist Adam Moskowitz, drummer and percussionist Jon Cross, and keyboard player Claudio Napoles, comprise the Bushwood line up and bring with them a sound that seeks to forge elements of funk, classic and roots rock, as well as reggae into a cohesive, flowing cadence.

The flourishes of flowing guitar are resolutely melodic, prolonging themselves into ornately-layered solos that play delightfully off of Voronkov’s vocals, which harken to 311’s Nick Hexum. The bass lines undulate discretely, driving forward, buttressing the double-pronged foundation laid down on the drums and keys. The band dexterously conjures vivid soundscapes that are evocative of water, the ocean, and of good times on the beach – a respite from the worry and the tediousness of the mundane day-to-day grind.

One of the stronger local releases of last year, Bushwood’s self-titled studio release provided every indication of a band that had emerged with complete poise as well as an uncanny sense of identity that is rare in an up-and-coming group. Rather than struggling against the influx of many different, mutually exclusive ideas, which often result in muddled, overwrought releases stinking of pretention, Bushwood have created something that can appeal to a wide array of conventional listeners – from anyone with an appreciation for Reggae, swirling guitar solos, and upbeat verses. It is this lack of a proclivity for the superfluous that is a hallmark of Bushwood’s recordings, seeking instead to instill good vibes through their markedly skilled hand as an ensemble. We had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Bushwood, and try to gain a better understanding behind precisely what drives these talented South Florida musicians.

So you’ve been playing as a band for quite some time now. When did you first start playing together, and what experience did you gain on the scene prior to this happening?

We’ve been playing as Bushwood since 2009, but we’ve all grown up playing in other rock bands in the past including Break 27, Skwint, Aurora, A Daylight Away, and The Big Screen. From those experiences, we’ve learned countless lessons about band dynamics, how to book shows, record in the studio, and most importantly how to listen. When this band began, it was mostly just jams that were later turned into sections of songs, but as we’ve progressed and evolved, we’ve taken a new approach to the craft of song writing, and we believe the songs on our upcoming album are our best ever.

The Bushwood sound features much more in the way of guitar solos and heavy riffing than is typical for conventional reggae. Where did you draw the inspiration for creating this bigger, more atmospheric take on the genre?

Well first and foremost, we LOVE to jam. We live for those moments inside a groove, when the music seems to manifest itself through our bodies and truly nothing else matters. The band originally developed as a “power trio,” leaving a lot of musical space for the room-shaking bass grooves of Adam Moskowitz and solid pulsating drum beats of Jon Cross. Our guitarist Steven Ross Voronkov comes from a background heavily drenched in classic rock, with heavy influences ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Jimi Hendrix. We recently added Claudio Napoles, who is an absolute magician on the keyboards, and supplies that much-needed reggae “bubble” in abundance. He has allowed us to deepen our sound and further develop our song writing as a four-headed unit.

Basically, our music is a collection of our deepest influences with a South Florida twist. A potent mix of the roots reggae and positive lyrics of Bob Marley & The Wailers, with a splash of Sublime’s upbeat California party vibe, a sprinkle of the blues-based jamming of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, mixed with the passion and songwriting skills of Zac Brown, all with the underlying funk of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in their John Frusciante era.

If there’s any particular ambience you really want to put through into your verses and into your sound, what would it be?

Positivity. Living life to the fullest. Letting it flow, and sharing good times with great friends. One of our main sources of inspiration comes from the ocean. There is something mystical and beautiful about it that completely clears your mind of any and all worries; whether it be chillin at the beach or snorkeling at a reef down in the Keys, this is when we feel most centered and at peace with the world.

What kind of role does South Florida life play a role in the lyrics you write and the music you play?

Honestly it’s - South Florida Music Obsessed

"Reggae Band Bushwood Turns to Kickstarter for "Bigger, Juicer, Dubier" Sophomore Release"

Fort Lauderdale-based feel-good reggae ensemble Bushwood has left the fate of its second album in the hands of investors. But those investors are a group of dedicated fans who have displayed an impressive initiative to fund Tidal Wave via Kickstarter.

The online investment portal Kickstarter has a catch: The all-or-nothing deadline clause, which means that if Bushwood does not raise its projected $1,420, by October 5, the band receives bupkis but an A for effort.

We spoke to bassist Adam Moskowitz about this fundraising endeavor, the recording process, and a new melodic band member, Claudio Napoles.
New Times: How did you hear about Kickstarter, and why did you decide to utilize this method to raise funds for your second album?

Adam Moskowitz: We first heard about Kickstarter through our friends Emily Kopp, a great soul-pop artist, who used it to raise funds to record her debut full-length album, and our buddies in Spred the Dub, who used Kickstarter to fund their debut album. They both showed us that it could work for a band like ours and would be an excellent way to offset the expensive act of recording and releasing a full-length album independently.

Why risk the all-or-nothing aspect of Kickstarter, rather than, say, asking for donations via Paypal?

The special thing about Kickstarter is that it delivers the optimum platform for "gathering your troops" and provides a sense of urgency by putting a deadline on your project, along with the offer of great exclusive prizes directly from the band. On our Kickstarter, we offer everything from signed hard copies of the new album to custom merch, hand-written lyrics, and even an offer to make a custom YouTube video singing "Happy Birthday."

So, you're headed to St. Augustine to record. Are you working with the same team from 2011's debut?

Well, for last year's debut album, we recorded our guitar, bass, and drums at Contrast Studio in Boca Raton, but then shipped the files up to our good friend Eric "Dirty" Kaufman, who mixed and mastered them at the Fish Tank Studio in St. Augustine. Based on his work on that album, this time, we decided we wanted to do the whole process from start to finish with him. Eric has been working at the Fish Tank Studio for some time now, which operates out of the home of Lucio Rubino, an award-winning musician and producer who oversaw the entire process.

How has the recording process changed for you guys this time around?

The main difference between our new album and our previous album is a huge upgrade in quality, starting with the drum sound. We wanted this album to sound bigger, juicer, dubier, yet still very clean.

Based on the raw tracks, we know the sound on this album is going to be levels above our previous efforts, and that feels really good. We also used better gear on my bass to get that big, fat, round sound that our music needs and deserves. The guitar recordings came out incredible as well, thanks to the use of Fish Tank's Kemper Amp. We'll be finishing up with keyboards, acoustic guitar, percussion, horns, and vocals in the coming weeks.

You've officially recruited a fourth member of Bushwood, Claudio Napoles, on keys. How does infusing melody change the band's sound?

Claudio is a huge game changer for us. Previously, we had gone through a couple of keyboard players in an effort to find the right guy, but no one seemed to fit our vision perfectly. Along came Claudio. We first experienced him sitting in to jam with our good friends and reggae legends Fourth Dimension. Since he wasn't a permanent member with them and we were looking, we connected the dots and jammed with him one day.

We knew right away that we had discovered our missing piece. We are ecstatic that he will be featured on this upcoming album, and we know that if anyone enjoyed us before, they are going to love the new Bushwood sound. Along with Claudio, we have been jamming with two other musicians, our friends Carl Dykes on saxophone and Eric Schechter, who has added percussion. It's a much fuller sound, and everyone is really enjoying the new dynamic.

What can the fans expect from a Tidal Wave listen, compared to the self-titled debut?

This time around, we made a conscious effort to pen several upbeat, dance-friendly, funky tunes. We love our debut album immensely, but these new songs have sparked something incredible in us, and we have pushed ourselves to make the songs the best they could be. The album spans several styles of reggae, both upbeat and roots, but definitely has some funky and rockin' parts as well.

There's also going to be a beautiful love song on there, inspired by when we went to see Carlos Santana live. As for evolution, we have been steadily playing these songs, letting them mold and find themselves in a live setting. Since our debut, our singer and guitar player, Steve Voronokov, has been making his living through playing solo acoustic shows, which has not only improved hi - New Times Magazine

"BUSHWOOD – SELF-TITLED. The mellow sounds of South Florida’s best."

One could make the argument that reggae music transcends other genres due to its powerful and incontestable ability to brighten up a dark day. In fact, this is an argument I have made innumerable times in the past, and if validation is needed to back up this claim, South Florida’s reggae/rock trio Bushwood has just provided it with their self-titled debut album.

I promise you, it’s damn near impossible to listen to this band and not have a smile on your face, a beer in one hand, and a doobie in the other…especially as the summer comes rolling in. This solid 10-track record is the perfect soundtrack for you lazy beach bums to pop in and just simply let ride from start to finish. Even if you’re regrettably confined somewhere in the concrete jungle, these feel-good tunes will convince you that you’re far from the city with your feet in the sand.

The album opens up with one of my favorite tracks, “Red & White,” which is filled with head-nodding drums, a face-melting solo, and an addicting bass line that brings it all together. This leads right into the laid-back “By The Water,” which will not only ease your mind, but also make you severely regret not waking up on the beach every morning. Next up is the seasonally appropriate, tempo changing, catchy tune “Summertime,” which is yet another song that complements the album extremely well.

As if the first 3 tracks weren’t solid enough, the next track is “Paradise,” and aside from being a great song, it truly is a display of talent, showcasing the band’s musical and lyrical prowess. Since I finally got a copy of the album in my hands, I’ve been restarting this song every time it finishes, and without exception, this type of auditory entertainment continues on until the end of the record.

Throughout the album, Bushwood remains consistent in providing their fans their unique fusion of old-school funk, reggae rhythms, and classic and Southern rock. You can hear their Southern rock influences in “Drop The Anchor”, and the old-school funk is quite evident in the instrumental track “Flomanja”.

The foundation of each song is a pleasant abundance of reggae, and it’s hard to miss the vintage and classic rock-inspired electrifying guitar solos. As for the captivating songwriting, it’s pretty clear that Bushwood is a product of their environment, and South Florida’s sunny beaches continue to be the main focal points and source of their creativity.

Though Bushwood draws their inspiration from the Atlantic, we certainly can appreciate and relate to the band’s island style over here on the Pacific coast. Their smooth sounds and beach narratives set the tone perfectly for the genesis of 2011’s summer, and it’s the perfect match for the relaxing Southern California lifestyle.

While their fanbase is mainly concentrated in the South Florida area, it’s inevitable that their passionate and easygoing music reaches across the country to the west coast beaches. So as a Bushwood fan and a Los Angeles resident, I encourage the group to spread their love and music from coast to coast and give the people of SoCal the opportunity to party with one of SoFlo’s best bands.

Bio

Bushwood is a fun-loving six-piece funky reggae band based out of South Florida. Their positive energy is infective, evidenced by the loyal following that supports them from Key West to Orlando.  They bring an eclectic style to the table, ranging from high-energy funk and rock to chill roots reggae.  There is a genuine love and passion that fills the room when the guys do their thing.  The members include Steven Ross Voronkov (guitar/lead vocals), Adam Moskowitz (bass guitar/vocals), Carl Dykes (tenor saxophone/guitar/vocals), Joey Bitton (drums), Alexander Coombs (trumpet/guitar/vocals), and Diego Godoy (keyboards).  Together they deliver a high-energy live performance that is both engaging and entertaining. This vibe was fully captured in their debut self-titled album, released in the Spring of 2011.  In June 2013 Bushwood released their sophomore album "Tidal Wave", made possible by a successful fan-funded Kickstarter campaign.  Bushwood continues to evolve their sound, staying busy playing local venues while writing and recording new music.  In January of 2015 they released "Unchained EP", a three track EP that gives the audience a taste of what to expect from their upcoming third album, which is currently underway.  The fun, positive vibes are undeniable when this group hits the stage.  Come see them live to take in the full performance experience!
