"Central Disorder 2012 EP Review"

Central Disorder is a twisted thrash metal band that seem to fuse some of the genres maxims with a healthy death metal energy that does not give in. The end result is a sound that is more aggressive than Lamb of God and far less polished than Trivium. Yet the influences of both are readily apparent. Unafraid to add dashes of metalcore to their sound Central Disorder pushes ever forward with a manic energy that many bands like. Instead heavy blast beats and explosive chords force out pounding and skull busting music that will not fail to impress. I'd also like to note that some of the songs have a definite groove metal aspect to them which is often very nice. All in all, this is a band that could very much come forward and dominate the Chicagoland area (as is their stated goal) if they can push the groove aspect to the max while keeping the blast beats pounding. - Two Guys Metal Reviews

"2012 EP Review"

Reading through the band info on the Central Disorder Facebook page, I was intrigued by the statement saying “our aim is to be the heaviest and fasted band in Chicago” I was intrigued to see if the band can live up to this statement. To say I nearly had my ears blown off is an understatement! I was not aware there was a metal scene in Chicago, but these guys certainly have the stuff to make a name for themselves if this five track EP is anything to go by.

Since the band was formed back in 2003, a transformation from thrash to melodic death/ groove has definitely given the guys an edge. Already the band have opened for some of metals top acts such as Exodus, Mushroomhead and Soil to band a few.

The heaviness of the riffs created by Central Disorder boarders the melodic death genre mix in with their old thrash style. Deep guttural vocals with a punk vibe further widens the scope of how far the boundaries can be pushed. I can’t help thinking that Central Disorder sound like old Sepultura from the Schizophrenia/ Beneath The Renains era combined with influences like recent Agnostic Front and Obituary. I am really impressed by this awesome style they have compiled. After reviewing countless bands over the years I can honestly say I have never heard such a sound before!

I need more Central Disorder, what more can I say? Certainly well worth top marks. I believe that there are no boundaries to what this band can write, for the more heavier fans out there well worth checking out. - The Metal Review

"2012 EP Review"

MetalBite Review by JD on 6/18/2014

There are times, I wonder about the state of metal. These days the extreme glut of certain styles seems to be quickly and disastrously diluting the whole scene with each clone band that comes out. There are times, I agree with this idea with great disgust following, and other times… it is the furthest from the truth. That said…I was given the Illinois based band called Central Disorder, and my mind reverted to that same question once again.

It seems that this band has brought together their favorite genres of metal: melodic death metal, screaming thrash and even some crossover punk. Think of it as a intersection between early Sepultura, Overkill and with blitzing punk crossover like Agnostic Front. Brutal, raw and aggressive with detail on building melody as well – it was not what I expected and happily it was better.

Across the board, this EP is packed full of intense riffs and battering beats that scream metal. Songs like the skull-pounding "Distorted Existence" and the furious "(Die) For Your Sins" are blazing with fury and aggression that is like a sonic concussion straight into your frontal cortex. All this band needs is a better producer, major label backing and time to perfect their sound… then there is no telling what Central Disorder could create.

The band is not reinventing the wheel nor are they charting new territory here… although they are inventing their own way to brutality. If they can be given the right circumstances and a wee bit of luck to go along with it, Central Disorder might become a potent force to be seen and heard. They have talent galore, they just need to focus on the other details to get to that next level.
