We've been working hard to set up a lot of cool Cherry Suede live events for t2010. We're looking at getting over to the UK at some point this fall. I must say.....very rarely am I impressed with a lot of newer music.  Maybe it's a sign that I'm getting older.  And every generation before seems to frown on the following generation's musical tastes.  But one newer artist's performance really, really impressed me... (read more)

A lot of people brush off "old music industry people" as dinosaurs who are out of touch, and this maybe true for some, but there is still much wisdom to be found in the history of the music business. Bryan Adams played a fantastic acoustic show to a packed house last night at the NAC in Ottawa, ON. My favorite show moment was when Bryan invited his old writing partner, Jim Vallance, to accompany him on piano in "The Best is Yet to Come". (read more)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I like John Mayer.  Ok, he's in the public eye a lot, and his dating schedule, according to the tabloids, seems to be nice and full.  In this day and age, it's almost impossible for a very public artist to have any kind of private life.  But John Mayer seems to take it all with a grain of salt.  He pokes fun at himself.  He doesn't take himself too… (read more)

In music, there are a ton of songs about image. How good someone looks, how beautiful they are, how stylish they dress, etc... In hip hop, it's all about dressing up, starting a clothing line, being sponsored by big car brands or, or being associated to high grade alcohol. Those hip hop stars are almost as tuned in to those other industries as they are to music. In pop, some if the biggest stars also… (read more)

Jammie Thomas-Rasset owes the RIAA a $1.92 million dollars!! For 24 songs on a hard drive! Ok kids...all you guys that made mixtapes or mix CDs...you're next!  At about 20 songs a CD, you'll be in for a good 1.6 million for expressing your feelings, make sure he/she is worth it! (read more)
