In music, there are a ton of songs about image. How good someone looks, how beautiful they are, how stylish they dress, etc... In hip hop, it's all about dressing up, starting a clothing line, being sponsored by big car brands or, or being associated to high grade alcohol. Those hip hop stars are almost as tuned in to those other industries as they are to music. In pop, some if the biggest stars also seem to be some of the most attractive. Pop acts like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, the Jonas Brothers, P.Diddy, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, etc...there is a fairly obvious desire to look your best.
