Chino Tha Kid

A melodic mastermind, 25-year-old Chino the Kid ,out of Mobile, Alabama, is a force in the studio equal to two artists; two talented ones. On the one hand, he can rap with profound depth about experiences of the struggle growing up in the deep-south. On the other hand, Chino is a beast when it comes to putting notes together, penning choruses that rival the most talented of R&B crooners. Chino’s depth and genuine soulfulness come from an Alabama upbringing in a musical household. His mom was even signed to a group called “The Royal Family” at one point. But that doesn’t mean Chino was raised regally in the lap of luxury. At the age of eight years old he was devastated by the loss of a close cousin. He lived with a family that consisted of his grandmother and several siblings and can vividly recall the times when he was homeless living in his mom’s truck and ashamed to let his friends see where he lived. Chino felt cast aside to an extent from his family and his less than ideal circumstances pushed him to excel in other avenues as he found distractions for himself. He took to rapping to express himself as a way to let out his emotions. Since 2012 it’s really been all or nothing for Chino with his music. In October 2013 he got his first break with online radio on A105 & Home Team Radio in Atlanta. He frequently makes the trip to “the A” hoping to be noticed and gain exposure with broader audiences.
