Chris Monk Music

I have been singing, playing and writing songs for over 25 years. My writing and performances are a mix of Acoustic Pop, Rock, Country, Blues and Folk music. Some of my bigger influences would be The Beatles, Kansas, Keith Urban, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac, Jason Mraz, The Eagles, Jack Johnson, Ray LaMontagne, Rascal Flatts, George Michael, Train, Hootie & The Blowfish, Edwin McCain, Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Styx, and Billy Joel. My abilities include singing, song writing, acoustic and bass guitars, and some keyboards. I also have spent a lot of time recording, audio editing and midi programming. It's always been about great songs for me. I have made it my goal to produce and perform songs that are relevant, marketable and true to who I am. I have poured my heart into each and every song that I have ever recorded and I have always sought to achieve the highest possible levels of excellence in my craft. I have made every effort to produce songs that are catchy and creative, songs that the listener can relate to and hold on to. I have explored many styles of music, and many methods of recording, but I have always tried to maintain a common thread in all of my songs that makes them stand out from the rest. I truly believe that anyone who really listens to them with an open mind and an open heart will find something very entertaining and engaging, something that carries them away on a musical journey that leaves them wanting more.
