Bio
Crabmeat was awarded Fellowships in 2007 and 2010 by the Delaware State Arts Council as a folk musician, but his music ranges from blues to bluegrass, with gobs of sui generis material sporting titles like “You’re the Reason God Made Alcohol” and “Poodles from Hell.”
Crabmeat has performed with Kate Wolfe, Steve Forbert, John Sebastian, Charles Bukowski, and Roscoe the Wonder Horse; and at The World’s Fair and Sloppy Joe’s, Key West.
Dr. Demento aired his song “Hot Spring.”
Crab’s Song “Small Wonder” is published in the Mel Bay book Songs of the American People.
“Crabmeat has a wide repertoire of songs, ranging from comments on the environment to political topics to material based on his travels or his career as a college teacher, all done with his trademark sense of humor. In addition, his musicianship on guitar, voice, and other instruments is superb and he always develops a rapport with any audience. Crabmeat Thompson is an excellent performer!” Mark Ellis, WVUD FM
‘Crabmeat: Your song, "One Ton Tomato" is a hit on my show. Thank you for your wit.’ Ken Alan - 101.FM, Birmingham, AL.
See what all the fuss is about when Crabmeat plays Jackson Street Café at 9:45 Saturday night, the 31st.
