"The Folk Revival"

“Combining thoughtful poetry and evocative storytelling with sweet harmonies, Dan & Faith are an acoustic duo worth hearing again and again. As singer-songwriters they remain true to their open-mic/coffeehouse/musicin- the-round roots, evoking laughter, love, melancholy, and magic in equal parts. Their new album, Simple Grace, contains their best work to date: a selection of original songs that ring a range of changes on a number of themes, varying pace, tempo, emotion, and musical craft to create something quite lovely and special.” – Nick Noble, WICN Radio – The Folk Revival - Nick Noble

"Compassionate"

“Dan and Faith warmly and honestly portray themselves, as individuals and as a couple, with an expansive panorama of acoustic styles that reflects their enlightened world view: a deep love for words and music, and a compassionate earth-based spirituality that illumines every couplet, guitar riff and mandolin melody.” – Pete Kennedy, The Kennedys - Pete Kennedy

"Acoustic Java"

“It is always an awesome day when Dan & Faith play at the café, with their wonderful and eclectic mix of haunting original melodies and echoes of Johnny Cash and Emmy Lou Harris…” – DF, Acoustic Java, Worcester, MA -

"Wicked Local Bolton"

“In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings, the lyrics of Daniel Senie’s song, “Simple Grace,” strike a poignant chord. The raw emotions of fear and pain are balanced by hope in the very first verse: “We come in fear, we come in pain, Shed many tears, like falling rain, But through it all, it’s clear to see, The light of love will set us free.” ”
– Barbara Allen, Wicked Local Bolton, GateHouse Media New England (Jul 25, 2013) - GateHouse Media New England

Bio

Dan and Faith are a New Hampshire-based husband and wife singer/songwriter/storyteller duo who describe their music as dream-inspired folk. Daniel Senie (guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals) and Faith Senie (mandolin, bass, dulcimer, ukulele, vocals) tap into dreams and everyday life in crafting their original songs. They also perform select covers. The duo has released several albums – Then and Now (2020), Seeking (2016), Simple Grace (2014) and two earlier releases that are out of print. Then and Now ranked #7 on the Folk DJ Chart in January 2020.

Raised in New York City and the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, Dan has been singing for as long as he can remember. Although he took piano and French horn as a child, neither instrument kept his interest. However, he enjoyed spending many summers at Camp Taconic, singing folk songs of the 1960s and 1970s, many of which remain favorites of his to this day. Upon moving back to NYC, Dan joined the Manhattan borough-wide chorus and, later, the New York All-City Chorus and Concert Choir.

Faith was raised in upstate Cooperstown, NY, where she began playing piano at an early age. She was an accompanist for school shows and concerts, sang in her school choir, and also took to acting. She and Dan met while both were students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Although professional life led them to set aside their musical pursuits for more than 20 years, a songwriting workshop series with Pete and Maura Kennedy prompted them to return to their musical roots several years ago.

Says Pete Kennedy: “Dan and Faith warmly and honestly portray themselves, as individuals and as a couple, with an expansive panorama of acoustic styles that reflects their enlightened world view: a deep love for words and music, and a compassionate earth-based spirituality that illumines every couplet, guitar riff and mandolin melody.”

Nick Noble, host of “The Folk Revival” on WICN (Worcester Public Radio) opines:
“Combining thoughtful poetry and evocative storytelling with sweet harmonies, Dan & Faith are an acoustic duo worth hearing again and again. As singer-songwriters they remain true to their open-mic/coffeehouse/music-in-the-round roots, evoking laughter, love, melancholy, and magic in equal parts.”
