Danielle Sheppard known professionally as Dany Catt, (born February 4th, 1990), is a singer, songwriter, and dancer from Washington Township, New Jersey. She began singing at the age of three entertaining her family. At the age of 9 she realized that performing was something she loved to do and began her journey into writing as well. Her sound has been cultivated by her love of pop, hip-hop, dance, and rock. Some of her best childhood memories were of her mother filling the house with the inspiring sounds of Christina Aguilera, Notorious B.I.G., Frankie Vallie, Tupac Shakur, Foxxy Brown, and Aaliyah who's been Dany's idol for as long as she can remember.
Growing up without a father and being raised by a mother who suffered from addiction, Dany did not grow up under the best circumstances. The cards she's been dealt has shaped her in spirit and self-worth. Dany uses her writing and singing as a way to not only deal with those circumstances therapeutically, but to inspire others to persevere and know they are not alone in this world. "I want to be the voice and outlet for those who don't have one", says Dany. She writes from her soul and wants fans to feel the emotion in her art.
Dany is presently working on her first currently untitled EP which will be available for streaming and download on ITunes, Apple Music, Google Play, and Soundcloud. It will tell a story of heartache, joy, desire, and strength. Led by the single "Lay it Down", an urban pop work that touches on finding and keeping love. She can be seen and heard performing at venues in New Jersey, Philadelphia, as well as New York.
