Dark Serenity

Dark Serenity takes influence from the best of the raw, unfiltered/unedited sounds of late 60's rock n' roll, the riff-driven grooves of the 70's, and the hard-hitting, high gain and treble guitar tones of 80's metal to make their sound. They are passionate about the revival of rock and metal music, and its subculture, in its purest form. 

Dark Serenity began performing professionally in southeast Michigan in September 2017. Though new on the music scene, they have quickly become regular performers at such Detroit metro area concert venues as The Token Lounge, The Blind Pig, The Crofoot and St. Andrews Hall. They have opened up for noteworthy acts such as Joe Lynn Turner and Graham Bonnet of Rainbow, the Last in Line, (including Vivian Campbell and Vinnie Appice), Lynch Mob, COUNTERFEIT., Richie Kotzen, and Starcrawler. In addition, they have been featured on WHFR 89.3 for live sets and interviews. 

Dark Serenity has received high praise for their efforts to revive a vintage, unfiltered sound, and was recently featured favorably in Splice Magazine,: ”giving us a dose of rock with a classic, unfiltered sound “ and “Vocalist/guitarist Kate Emrich passionately led bassist Zachary Barnes, and drummer Michael Bergamo through the set, the crowd showing their approval with increasing levels of applause after each song”(© Splice Magazine)  pertaining to their recent show with British rock powerhouse COUNTERFEIT.
