With the success of his “Everywhere I Go”single continuing to add more recognition to his name, DJ Chose has even more good news. The Houston rapper and indie label heavyweight ThinkItsAGame have announced a partnership between them & Chose’s Brook Gang Music imprint.

For the last few weeks, TIG has been touting itself as the first indie label since 2006 to own a number one record at urban radio (Rich Homie Quan’s “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)”). Now it has another potential smash with Chose to work with.

“Brook Gang & DJ Chose are pleased to be teaming with a ‘major-minded’ independent record company like Think It’s A Game Records to help continue the growing success of the single ‘Everywhere I Go’ as well as the DJ Chose brand,” Chose’s management team OG Ron C & DJ Impact said in a statement. “They have a track record that proves they can think outside the box and springboard their artists to national success.” - Brandon Caldwell

One big record by DJ Chose was the familiarly titled "Pop That," which sounds suspiciously similar to French Montana's—well, French Montana's version sounds suspiciously similar to DJ Chose's, which predated the more celebrated New York version. Chose has returned with MC Beezy for a record with big, spacious drums, squelching bass, and a sing-song hook that feels not substantially different from the vibe of YG, Jeezy, and Rich Homie Quan's "My Nigga"—a 2013 hit. Nonetheless it's an especially well-executed version, the kind of record that might float up lazily from the South a few years late and right on time all at once. - David Drake
