"MEET THE MUSIC MASTERS"

PET PEEVE
Don’t request a song then leave before it plays. The Chatty Cathy types are also very annoying. They never realize that I’m working.
PREFERRED SETUP
I prefer CDs with an iPad or iPhone to access any requests I may get. The best app I've used is CrossDJ.
SONGS TO KICK THE NIGHT UP A NOTCH
Beyoncé’s “Sorry,” Rihanna’s “Needed Me” and Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For”
WHERE TO FIND HIM
The Tin Room on Sundays and a new club called Taboo Lounge on Fridays
OTHER LOCAL DJS TO CHECK OUT
Ric Herrington, Red Eye, Rob Vaughan, Reggie Cranford, C-Rod, Tony Fair, DJ Mr. Rid
Who were the first artists and DJs who captured your imagination and inspired you?
One of the DJs that would be a big influence was James Griffith who was the DJ on some of the first cassettes I got in Dallas. He played at 4001, a club on Cedar Springs that was popular in the early ’80s. He was an incredible DJ that mixed flawlessly and came up with some very creative mixes. Another is Ric Herrington. I met Ric as soon as I moved to Dallas. He gave me my first job at Big Daddy's and influenced my programming immensely. He had incredible knowledge of the morning/downtempo/sleaze sound of which I had no idea existed before I met him.

Other DJs that have influenced me include Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Dave Morales, BUC and Susan Morabito. Divine, Sylvester, Patrick Cowley, Bobby O, Dead Or Alive and Giorgio Moroder are artists that have made a big impression on me.
Strangest or most interesting DJ gig you ever played?
Any Brooke H party with Michael Alig and various NYC club kids. Whenever they came to Dallas it was always very interesting to say the least. Times too wild to go into here... New Year's Eve 1996 at the Museum of Natural History in Atlanta. 1000+ dance floor full of gay boys and drag diva Obsession doing backflips on stage right next to me.
HOW, WHEN AND WHY YOU GOT STARTED IN THE CRAFT?
I've always played music for my friends. In the summer of 1980 I had just finished fifth grade. I had a party in my parents' backyard. I played all the hits on 45 rpm records. "Cars" by Gary Numan, "Second Time Around" by Shalamar and "Funkytown" by Lipps Inc. were favorites that night. - DALLAS MORNING NEWS
