"#Motiv8Mondays – Dre Murro"

Who are you?
I am Dre Murro! I’m an 23 year old R&B singer/songwriter from North Carolina. I make R&B music that you can dance to, cry to, and make love to. How did you start?

I began singing in the youth choir. My grandmother was the choir director. I’ve been singing ever since! As far as songwriting goes, that sprouted from my love of poetry which I noticed during English classes in elementary school. I took those poems and started turning them into my first songs. Over time, I’d say my pen game has improved a lot since those days of “Roses are red, Violets are blue…”

What is your genre/profession?
I’m an R&B singer & songwriter! I produce a little bit too, but I’m still honing that craft.

Who are your musical or artistic influences?

Marvin Gaye, D’Angelo, and David Ruffin.

What Motiv8s you?
Anything that “moves” me motivates me. That’s gotten me into trouble at times. I just feel like if it’s feels right, there’s nothing left to think about. Just do it!

Do you have any upcoming projects, shows, or appearances? What are your next steps?
I just released a new EP entitled #LetsTalkTOO! It’s the 2nd installment of me and producer BLK Assassin’s #LetsTalk series. Composed by BLK. Written by Me. Inspired by YOU. I say “inspired by you” because the stories I tell in my songs are relatable to EVERYONE. Whether I’m singing about love, a lit night out or just letting you know I’m feeling myself. lol We can all relate to those things! You can listen to #LetsTalkTOO now on Apple Music, TIDAL, Spotify & all other streaming services.

"AR-Report.com"

Introducing Dre Murro to the A&R Report. DeAndre “Dre” Moore got his start in the church like many other talented artists. From there he started performing in talent shows and even taught himself to play piano. Now you’ll find the 19 year old recording quality jams in his bedroom. Standout tracks such as Married in Cali, Rooms, Her, and Man on The Side have me convinced that Dre has a bright future ahead of him. Press play below and let us know if you think he’s an artist to watch. - Crystal J

"DaDecipher.com"

What your man doesn’t know won’t kill him, right? These girls here are scandalous, but upcoming artist Dre Murro won’t snitch. This right here is why cheating still happens in 2015. Dre Murro teams up with TREIH to give you this smooth new single, definitely radio quality. Don’t Know is exactly why you should be checking your girl’s DMs right now. - @CrisDaCat

"DJBooth.net reviews Dre's "Rooms""

The DJBooth Hotel is a luxurious five-star resort that many an up-and-comer is looking to visit. Unfortunately, there aren’t always vacancies. But if you happen to be an exceptional talent like Booth newcomer DRE, there are always Rooms available. Though he is only 18, DRE sounds like an R&B veteran on his latest cut, showcasing a style that’s unique but understated. Built around a muffled synth, The Graduates’ atmospheric production allows the artist to take center stage. Dre’s subdued, yet emotional and smooth vocal performance is the record’s hands-down highlight. Rooms is part of DRE’s forthcoming project, The Boy Grown, scheduled to drop on Valentine’s Day. Mark your calendars, lovers. - Lucas G

"DJBooth.net reviews Dre's "How I Fell In Love""

It’s the small things that will make you go crazy for the girl you love, like when she wears your t-shirt outside of the apartment. And even when you can’t leave her after you get in a fight, you know there’s something that goes far deeper than you thought. North Carolina artist DRE is familiar with this feeling, and he’s only 18. On his new single, How I Fell In Love, DRE doesn’t so much go step-by-step as to how he fell head over heels for a girl, but rather goes through the signs that he started to notice that made him realize that she was “the one.” If you’ve never fallen in love or have given up, just let the groovy beat and DRE’s words give you hope. While you wait for his next untitled project, due out this summer, check out his last album, The Boy Grown, available for free as of February. - Bryan H

"Featured Musician: Dre"

Moore is an incredible talent with a keen ear for music. Upon reviewing his music I found a record on his free mixtape/album entitled “Future Wife”, which is a remake of Austin Brown’s “Menage A Trois” record. Followed by the song another record that I enjoyed from the entire Gold mixtape is “Medusa”. To have the ability to sing and rap take great skill to do both properly. In “Medusa” the musician delivers a sound that resembles the harmonies and an alternative sound that music Frank Ocean could have delivered in singing the chorus to the song. - Kenal Louis

"DJBooth.net reviews Dre's "Medusa""

As anyone who knows their Greek legends (or who’s watched Clash of the Titans) is aware, the Medusa is a serpentine-coiffed female who turns any man who happens to catch a glimpse of her face to stone. To most guys, that wouldn’t exactly scream “girlfriend material”—but Booth newcomer DRE (not to be confused with Dr. Dre, Dre of Cool & Dre, Andre 3k, or any other “Dre” previously featured on our pages) ain’t most guys. On the Raleigh, North Carolina representative’s latest single, a dreamy instrumental by Freddie Joachim (Joey BADA$$, Chuwee) sets the mood for the emcee and singer’s mythologicaly-inspired recollections of an ex-girl he just can’t seem to get off his mind. Digging it? More awaits on DRE’s forthcoming GOLD mixtape, scheduled to drop digitally in December. - Richard

"Robert Metzgar talks about Dre"

I have been in the music business for over 30 years. As a member of the prestigious Legends Hall Of Fame I want to recommend the marvelous music of Dre Murro to you. The production is superior and the beats are out of this world. Take it from someone who's listened to thousands of pieces of music, this music has what it takes to make the world stand up and take notice. It reminds me of the early music of Nelly and his contemporaries. This is organic, fresh and from the heart. - Robert Metzgar

Bio

Now at 25 years old, Dre Murro is more than ready to set the music world on fire! With his smooth tone & provocative lyrics, there's no wonder why his self-recorded debut mixtape, "9INE", spawned a hit single with "PlayTime" which garnered over 200,000 streams collectively on popular music streaming service Pandora in 2016. Shortly after, Dre signed an exclusive distribution deal between his self-founded imprint 9INE Records, LLC & Empire Distribution. Then came the release of his smash single "Know U Know (featuring Young Dolph)", produced by Grammy-nominated producer Ricky Racks. Oh, and we can't forget “YNOS: The Mixtape Vol. 1”, which was released in March & hosted by legendary Cool Running DJ Bigga Rankin. Dre then embarked on The #WorstWay HBCU Tour where he performed on multiple HBCU campuses in the US ending with a show-stopping mainstage performance during The 2017 Women's Empowerment Conference in Raleigh, NC at the PNC Arena. The end of 2017 also brought the birth of a new partnership with music producer BLK Assassin which spawned 2 EPS: "Let's Talk" (2017) & “Let’s Talk Too” (2018).

In 2018, Dre kept his dedicated R&B listeners well-fed with the release of his self-recorded mixtape "SEASON 1". “I went back to my bedroom for that one. Just me and my mic!”, says Dre when talking about the creative process behind the tape.

In early 2020, Dre relocated to Atlanta, GA. While working on a new self-titled project, he’s also dropping singles as well as performing at various venues across the USA. Although his music career has only just begun, heads are already turning at the mention of the new R&B crooner DRE MURRO!
