Technischer Death Metal ist augenblicklich eher schwer zu finden, da die meisten neuen Bands sich doch lieber in der Gegend herumprügeln. So ist es also mal ganz angenehm, wenn eine Band wie ECHIDNA sich diesen Tugenden annimmt und Musik mit Tendenz in Richtung ATHEIST, DEATH oder GORGUTS verbreitet. De naam Echidna wordt op het moment gedeeld door een Portugese melodische death metal-band en een Griekse progressieve death metal-band. When I listen to the Greek outfit Echidna. I suddenly really feel like playing Death's 'Leprosy'. On their self-released debut 'Manifests Of Existence' these Greeks come close to that fine balance between extremity, technique and a progressive whim on that classic album, but at the same time they are not quite there yet. We came up with some websites that are illegaly selling our album as mp3 downloads. The only authorized partners that actually give us fees/cuts from mp3 sells are cdbaby.com and their digital distribution partners (go here to see all the cd partners: members.cdbaby.com/digitaldistributionpartners.aspx). Every other website that has listed our album as a paid download doesn't actually give us a penny.… (read more)
