"BOSTON MC E JAKE PAYS HOMAGE TO THE WU TANG CLAN ON “36 FOREVER”"

“Born in ’89 but I’ll be 36 forever.” That is the bold line off of the smooth, melodic track entitled ’36 Forever’ by rhyme fanatic E Jake. It is one of the lead singles from his upcoming 26-track album called “Wu Raised Me,” which is set for an October 19th release date. The project is heavily influenced by the hard-hitting, head bopping sounds of the super Rap group The Wu-Tang Clan. E Jake chose this album name to display his appreciation of the group and to personify his skills on the mic. His mission is to honor the culture by carrying on the tradition of lyrical content, unique style, and underlining ambiguity throughout the entire production.

“36 Forever” refers to two of E-Jake’s favorite Wu albums, which are “Enter The Wu-Tang 36 Chambers” and “Wu-Tang Forever.” However, in drug and street jargon, the term ’36 forever’ means to keep it 1000% raw, real and authentic. Hence, you see the ambiguity. E Jake’s unique rap style is highlighted on the second verse of the song as he creatively name drops all original nine members of the Wu as well as the 7 original members of his independent Boston, MA based entertainment label, Power House Movement. As far as original lyrical content goes E Jake talks about the streets and Trap life without using profanity.

"Doomstarks Is Performing at SXSW 2016"

Austin, Texas is once again about to be lit AF as the annual SXSW Music and Film Festival has descended upon the capital city once again. As always, the multi-day event will include hundreds of performances from artists from all over the world as they turn up in venues throughout the city. This year’s event has an added interest because it will feature a performance from the duo Doomstarks.
Consisting of MF Doom and Ghostface Killah, the elusive two-man crew will perform at the SXSW Takeover on March 17. Presented by New Era and Hypetrak, the set has been dubbed as “Live From The Other Side” and will also feature performances from Jay Electronica, Jazz Cartier, Freeway, DonMonique, A.F.R.O., E Jake, Don Flamingo, Shook and DJ Womder. The advertisement for the show resembles a comic book, displaying Iron Man holding the MF Doom mask to the sky.
This could be the start of the moment fans have all been waiting for. Then again, the last time these two did a “Live From the Other Side” performance, it meant that DOOM, who is living in the U.K. and unable to legally come into the U.S. right now, would be appearing via screen.
The two rappers initially announced their union back in 2011 after linking up a few years prior. “The guys regrouped just this year and really started fine tuning and really trying to hone it in to make this thing a reality,” Devin Horwitz of Nature Sounds Records told XXL at the time. “I think just recently it really clicked for both of them what this project could be and how important it was really for the fans.”
For a while nothing had materialized, leaving fans to wonder if the album would ever happen. Until last September when they released the song “Lively Hood” giving fans hope.
Their long-awaited album Swift & Changeable is now set to drop some time in 2016. Will they debut more bangers at SXSW? We hope so.

Bio

E Jake or Eazy, as he is commonly known as, is what Hip-Hop has been looking for in an artist. While the phrase “keep it 100” is often used by nearly everyone in the streets, isn’t it true that the majority don’t? Well Eazy doesn’t have that problem; he is genuine to himself & others, both in and outside the booth. Born in Boston, raised in Framingham, this young, Black, talented MC has seen both sides of the fence; where opportunity and struggle meet.

Rapping since age 10, he’s always had an ear for music, growing up listening to the classic soul greats including Al Green, Curtis Mayfield & The Temptations to the sounds of Wu-Tang, Nas & Jay-Z. He became serious about pursuing a music career after serving nearly 3 years in a juvenile detention center. Once home he began community college for Business Administration and formed the Massachusetts based independent entertainment, Power House Movement LLC, with fellow childhood friends.

Legal trouble didn’t stop there and it forced Eazy to take a step back from his grind & rising status as he did more time in the cell than the booth. During his last bid he decided to drop his old stage name of Menace Moore, and take on his current & final stage name, E Jake; short for his government name, Elijah Jacobs.

Once released from incarceration in 2012, he began releasing many songs and music videos gaining a wide variety of attention from fans, supporters, major record label executives, and of course fellow competition. E Jake has always done live performances, whether it was small local shows or opening for major industry signed acts at larger venues; but it wasn’t until March 2015 when he would have his most monumental performance to date. He was invited to the Texas based music festival SXSW (South by Southwest) landing a slot on the same bill as Wiz Khalifa, Dej Loaf, and many others at the 2,750-person capacity venue ACL-Live.

E Jake has since moved onto to open his own recording and production studio, 3 Stripe Studios, with fellow childhood friends and also won Best Male Rap Artist of Year 2015 for Urban Threshold’s 12th Annual Underground Music Awards. He doesn’t stop working; he says he doesn’t have any addiction besides success. Taken from E Jake himself he once stated, “I fell in love with the grind, because its like once you reach your goal what’s next? So I keep working… Never losing sight of my inspiration while constantly feeding my ambition.” So what lays ahead for this young, aspiring sensation? Only time will reveal the answers, until then let’s sit back and analyze his moves and progression.

PEACE.
