It’s difficult not to notice Fat Mezz in North Wildwood.
The seemingly note-perfect electric band concentrating on classic rock with a few originals and funk covers has become the house band for the venerable Anglesea Pub. Bio
Fat Mezz is a South Jersey rock band composed of Billy Thoden and Kurt Foster on guitar, Dom Levy on bass, and Corey Chodes on drums. All four members are talented vocalists, taking turns on lead and harmony vocals. With roots in blues, rock, jam, psychedelia, and soul, Fat Mezz's goal is to blend vintage sounds with a contemporary twist. They draw inspiration from influential bands of the past and present, paying homage to both celebrated pioneers and forgotten talents. The band's name, Fat Mezz, is a tribute to jazz musician and civil rights advocate Milton "Mezz" Mezzrow, known for his clarinet and saxophone skills, as well as his association with the NYC jazz community's marijuana scene.
