Fighting The Silence

"We want to use our music as a vessel to spark a positive change in this world and be a voice for anyone who is struggling with Drug Addiction" says Dallas Albers, Vocalist and Multi Instrumentalist of the Cocoa Beach Florida based Rock group Fighting The Silence. 

Since 1996 Dallas, Jesse and PJ started making music in the same circles together, in bands such as Misguided Youth, Jo Casino and Failure To Comply. In 2001 Jesse relocated and ended up in the Eugene Oregon music scene performing with the band Ninth Moon Black and went on several tours up and down the west coast. In 2003 Dallas and PJ started a group called Santos. A three piece acoustic group out of Palm Bay Florida. Santos put out 2 EP's, released a full length album and played shows all over Florida, Atlanta and New York City. 

Over the years they all struggled with Drug Addiction and lost many close friends and band members to the disease. Dallas reached an extremely low point and started contemplating suicide. 

"I felt like I was going to die if I didn't make a change, So I decided to do something about it" says Dallas. In August of 2011 He flew to Austin Texas, went to treatment and started his journey in Recovery. Not knowing where his musical career was headed, he was approached by a man named Konrad who suggested to him to put what he was going through into music. Shortly after getting out of treatment Dallas went into the studio and started recording the self titled album Fighting The Silence. 

In Late 2012 long time drummer PJ sought help, went to treatment and joined Fighting The Silence. In early 2013 Jesse got clean and in May of 2014 relocated back to Cocoa Beach and joined the band as well. 

Fighting The Silence has a wide range of influences such as Sparta, Rage Against The Machine and The Flaming Lips. Their hope is to carry their message of Hope, Faith and Courage to the world and reach out to treatment centers and Colleges to share their music and and their story to anybody who is struggling with Addiction and let them know that there is a way out and Recovery is possible.
