"Listen to Furnsss's 'Discover II' and Melt into Your Couch"

Seagreen Records has been putting out fantastic albums on cassette for the last two years. Their new single from Connecticut-based Furnsss continues the streak. Furnsss's song, "Discover II," is druggy dream pop that feels tailor-made for being played in a basement at high volume while you burn through a six-pack and a box of whippets—but don't let the band's parents catch you. The guys in Furnsss are all in their teens, and some of them still live at home.

The band's first full-length is out November 28 on Seagreen. It's called "Silent Gold," and it looks like it'll be right in line with the Slowdive-meets-White Fence vibe of the single. Luckily, the album will also be released online, so you won't have to buy a Talkboy on eBay to listen to it on tape. - VICE

"FURNSSS, “MOUTH BREATHING”"

Connecticut-based Furnsss is the ever-changing fuzz pop project of Brendan Dyer, with a pretty stellar lineup of friends for live shows. They’re getting ready to kick off a 45 date tour with Bread Pilot so, obviously, we’ve got their new music video for “Mouth Breathing” for you to enjoy.

Remember those old homemade videos you used to make on a giant tape with your video camera? Well, that’s what this sucker looks like. Brendan Dyer is seen leaning on a wall, playing drums in front of some shelves, playing guitar against a wall, and with lights flashing on and off behind him, almost strobe-like. It’s a bit trippy, with color block overlay every once in a while. Plus they took a lot of time to move stuff around to make the video have a very rough stop motion element to it. It seems like it took a lot of work, and that’s kind of a fun aspect to it. We’re actually very proud of Brendan and his cohort, director/producer Sam Cahill. - Impose

"Very tight set filled with beautiful plucky guitar riffs"

Another highlight of the night were CT natives Furnsss who played a fantastic set that enthused the crowd, and got the whole basement moving. Playing self-described fuzz pop, the four piece delivered a very tight set filled with beautiful plucky guitar riffs, and vocals that sound straight out of the early 90’s. Their new release New Moves is definitely a release to check out. - The Key XPN

Bio

Furnsss is the garage-tinged fuzz pop project led by Brendan Dyer. With compositions that call to mind what could be the raw b-sides of early Built To Spill, the band is the product of suburbia induced boredom born out of Connecticut. They split their time between Connecticut, Ohio, and Philadelphia rotating members when some are in school.

Their taste in music defies their age, citing influences that range from Pavement to Velvet Underground. Furnsss' take on life as a suburban youth is as ambitious as it is refreshingly raw. VICE called their music "druggy dream pop that feels tailor-made for being played in a basement at high volume while you burn through a six-pack and a box of whippets—but don't let the band's parents catch you."

Though they may seem chaotic or ramshackle on the surface, there's definitely something to be said for their slight of hand. Look closer and you'll find a sense of restraint, an truly impressive ability to nod to their musical heroes rather than mimic them (not easy for teens), and a quiet, mature confidence.
