Bio

Audrey LaChelle Simmons (born March 6, 1972), known by her stage name, Gods Chosen Saint, Gods Chosen Saint, is an American Indie singer, songwriter, dancer, movie script writer, clothing designer, entrepreneur, and actress. Her album No More Pain was just recently digitally released through Reverbnation and CD Baby. Her song Jesus Is The Way won a platinum buddy from uplaya.com

Audrey was born in Columbus, Ga to Robert Simmons, a construction worker with his own construction company, and Beverlyn Simmons, a telephone operator. Her mother is Cherokee Indian and Black and her father is Caucasian and Black. She is the oldest of six siblings brothers, Ivan, Kevin, Byron, and Victor. Sister, Shavone. She began singing around the age of 5. She began songwriting around the age of eleven. In an attempt to discourage her from music her mother would throw her songs away. It did discourage her for a few years but returned back to her when she met Macon, Ga rap artist Q-Rock (Greg Cubit). They wrote songs continuously in his in-home recording studio and garnered press acclimation. But the focus was on Q-Rock at the time.

Training
Audrey Simmons studied chorus, acting, and band all the way through school and even the Navy military boot camp.

Wesley Heights Elementary, Columbus, Ga - Audrey studied chorus, acting, and band. She wanted to play the drums but the band director at the time told her it was not a girls instrument so she chose the clarinet the same instrument her mom had played.

Fort Junior High, Columbus, Ga - Audrey studied chorus, drama, concert, and marching band. It was here that she showed her movie script to her drama teacher and received approval.

Campbell High, Smyrna, Ga - Audrey studied chorus, drama, and marching band. For her drama assignment she decided to sing in the schools talent showcase. But she was so shy at the time that when people started to clap she stopped singing. During her tour with the marching band her school won several awards.

Carver High, Columbus, Ga - Audrey studied marching band and flag chore. Her band won several awards here as well.

Us Navy, Bootcamp, Great Lakes, Illinois,- Audrey continued her training in chorus and was selected to solo for bootcamp performances.

Us Navy, USS Bataan, Norfolk, Va. - Audrey continued singing and was chosen to perform during ceremonies, and competitions aboard ship.

Gods Chosen Saints
Gods Chosen Saints was formed by homeless veterans who were staying in homeless shelter on Veterans Affairs grounds in Los Angeles, Ca. Audrey first noticed the guitar player Vincent Reszko singing and playing. At that point she had tons of lyrics and more were coming to her faster than she could write them down sometimes. She asked the guitar player if he would be able to help put music to some of her lyrics. From there she was introduced to the keyboard player David McCrae, and bass player Gregory Ogilvie. They went through one drummer who was playing for two bands at the time and decided to continue with the other band. Then finally received Steve Elliot who was also staying at the shelter and was the guitar players roommate.

The band members were so excited that they would rehearse 12 hours per day seven days per week. Before they knew it a year and a half had gone by. Audrey finally decided to find out what the band would sound like recorded. So she booked studio time at 4th Street Recording after finding the studio was the same studio used by the Beach Boys. Hoping the recording experience would be an even bigger motivator for the band to keep going, the result actually split the band due to added problems in the band.

Audrey decided to release her songs and to remain under the name Gods Chosen Saint with the s removed. She decided that God had finally answered her prayers asking Him to show her what His calling was for her was. Audrey came to the realization that God had given her the songs so easily because He wanted her to use the gifts He had given to her to spread His messages throughout the world to bring more souls to Him. The ability to be able to work for God gave Audrey the strength and determination to keep going and not let anything get in the way of accomplishing Gods mission after all He had done for her.
