"Psalm for America Brings Folks Together for 4th of July"

“I'm not tired of you America - I sing this psalm in the choir for you America.” Divisive times call out for feelings of unity, and what better way to do this after the fireworks than with an evening of music on Friday, July 6 at The Minstrel Acoustic Concert Series run by the Folk Project, a non-profit folk music and arts organization at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship.

“‘Psalm for America’ is the conduit for this feeling we’ve all been suppressed from stating,” says Jim Cullen, COO of Spicers Mill, after watching the just released music video filmed in Hoboken for the song by emerging Jersey singer songwriter Hayden Greyson.

“Hayden packs a ton of emotion and pathos into his lyrics...beautiful tone and phrasing, and an ability to communicate with his music that we don't see very often. Keep an eye on that artist,” according to LeAnn Zotta, executive VP of Songdoor International Songwriting Competition, who happened upon the song as it was playing on YouTube.

Summit based singer songwriter Hayden Greyson will sing his grand piano accompanied anthem “Psalm for America" at 7:30 pm July 6 at the Minstrel located at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship at 21 Normandy Heights Road. Hayden will be followed by Kirsten Maxwell, “one of tomorrow's luminaries of the folk world" who recently opened for Melissa Etheridge. Admission: $10 on your way in plus the balance of what you think the show was really worth on your way out. Children 12 and under free. All tickets are at the door. There are no advance sales or reservations. For more info, visit folkproject.org and watch the official music video for “Psalm for America” at haydengreyson.com - patch.com

“Hayden packs a ton of emotion and pathos into his lyrics without being overwrought. He’s clearly a very deep thinker with a flair for articulate expression. His vocal instrument is the perfect conveyor … beautiful tone and phrasing, and an ability to communicate with his music that we don’t see very often. Keep an eye on that artist.”
