Founded and formed in 2005, H.I.S started writing their first songs in their living room and recording on a 4-track recorder.
Q and Ri have merged their musical backgrounds of Hip Hop, Jazz and Soul into a dynamic sound with lyrical content sure to grab your immediate attention. By joining forces as a lyricist and singer they have set themselves apart from all the other bands, solo artists and other musicians around their hometown.
Today, when many see their faces they will recognize them as “Human Temperament”. This name is unique to the two; it was developed in the year of 2009 and lasted to the year of 2013. Fans of theirs know the 2 piece band for their songs “Break Free”,
“Phat lady” and “Delilah” and their SMASH hit single "Close Your Mouth" that received a lot of attention from Alex Kaderabek from BVTV. This is Alex Kaderabek take on the song/group, "H.I.S is one of the best new hip-hop acts to come out of Northern
California. They bring a new flavor to the genre with the contrast of both male and female vocals. After hearing their brand new, energetic single "Close Your Mouth" I knew this duo was going places. I support these two 110%.”
These songs played a major role at the time the two were kown as Human Temperament. More recently the two have decided to change their identity to H.I.S., which stands for “He Is Strong”, which you will get new and more in depth songs very soon.
Over the years they have traveled, played many shows and were opening act for many well-known established artists, such as The Streets, Jeffree Star, Afroman, Chris Webby, T. Mills, just to name a few. Making a mark in cities, such as San Jose, Berkeley, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Atlanta. The two have been sitting back, when others thought they will never get it established, studying the game of the industry. The two plan to return to the music scene with more wisdom and experience to take music lovers by storm.
The Story Behind The New Name H.I.S (He Is Strong!)
H.I.S. was inspired by the birth of our son. He was born five weeks premature and had to endure an emergency c-section. If the doctor didn't catch the pacenta ripping due to a bad reaction from induction sooner than she did, its safe to say both the mother and baby would have not made it.
When our baby boy was pulled from the womb he came out completely purple with no signs of life for 5 minutes. That's how long it took the nurses to revive our son back to life and rushed him to the NICU. With that amount of time without oxygen, Doctors were speaking to us about possible brain damage due to the excessive amount of oxygen lost. To be honest, the medical staff was extremely worried about him really making it out the hospital and coming home.
After, the longest month in our lives and running a series of tests on our son, all his tests came back negative, zero brain damage and he started improving at rapid speeds through the mercy of God. He is our hero, he is our angel sent from heaven, he is our miracle baby. We are doing music again in honor of our son because we've witness the impossible first-hand. If God can pull him out of a situation like this, then we have every right not to give up on music when it's tough. We thank God for his blessings and for giving us a son that is a HUGE inspiration to our lives. - He Is Strong (H.I.S)
