Hot Lava Monster

Writing again. It feels great, though a little daunting. Currently listening to over 200 tracks of demos and outtakes on my iPod that we’ve recorded in the last year or so. I’d love to finish some of this stuff eventually. Hell, I would love to record some of the finished stuff eventually. Just need to choose a starting point I guess. One titled “10-6-09”, stood out…mainly b/c I had forgotten all about it.  Thank god for recording devices.  I have no idea if it will become anything- it’s just so raw- but simply, and efficiently, evil.  I like it.  I have hope for it.  Sometimes you just hit a wall with seemingly great ideas and they slowly lose their luster over countless reworks.  There’s a delicate balance there.

The good news is we do have a couple of songs that should make it into the set list- if not the recording studio- soon. I’ve taken quite a liking to the drunk foreboding swagger the ideas are taking on these days. It seems appropriate.
