"UNI-G DROPS HIS “BODY BAG” VISUAL"

UNI-G DROPS HIS “BODY BAG” VISUAL
BY: M.MUSA JANUARY 29, 2018

Uni-G is back with yet another hit single. His new song Body Bag shows his diversity and limitless range. Off of his new album “Welcome To My Universe”, Body Bag forces the listener to get captivated in the first few seconds of the song. The bongo snare pattern is reminiscent of the Harlem made “No music” rhythm but all composed together feels like something you haven’t heard. It screams originality. The video is colorful, vibrant and overall fun; there isn’t a dull moment in this video. Uni-G shows his MC status bar for bar in this song and the video compliments the song as a whole. He’s definitely making his stamp in hip-hop and bringing the idea of being a conscious and commercial artist easily into fruition. His style is unmatched and with so much scarcity of hip-hop in todays music Uni definitely stands out. Be sure to check out his album “Welcome To My Universe” available everywhere. According to his website: "Uni-G began rapping at the age of 10 and earned his name Uni from a teacher who described him as being one of a kind like a Unicellular organism... He sees no end to his craft and his creativity and believes the key to success is to focus your conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear."

"UNI-G - WELCOME TO MY UNIVERSE Review"

Hailing from New York Uni-G got his start at the age of ten and was the under wing of hip-hop legend Mr. Biggs of the Soulsonic Force. You can hear some of talent and abilities on his latest release Welcome To My Universe.

There is no denying that the production is top notch on this album. The mixing, the beat and the layering is competitive with commercial acts. It’s also quite varied throughout the album which kept me interested and engaged as to what was going to happen next.

The album opens with a killer track entitled “Right Now.” There is a bit of a Jay-Z vibe on this track as well as a killer hook with multiple harmonies. The song has a festive, celebratory feel and was a great way to get your adrenaline pumping.

I felt like the party continued with “Summertime Party” which is something I desperately need with this long Chicago winter. There’s a little nostalgia around “Me and You” which almost felt like a little tip of the hat to LL Cool J with a more modern sounding chorus.

“Swerve” is a dark, club thumper. The rapping is on point during this track which is fast and slick. “Pablo” felt like another track destined for the late night club. The album is really just getting started. One of the standouts was “I Wish” which has good vibes and an important message which is about being grounded about where you are in life.

“Didn’t Know” is one of the more serious songs on the album that is thought provoking while “Catch A Vibe” has really smooth hooks. He closes strong with “I Fly” which leaves the album with about as much positive energy as it started with.

If you enjoys artist like Jay-Z, Kanye West and Tribe Called Quest to name a few I think you will want to check out what Uni-G is offering.

"Uni-G and Friends Show Review"

Uni-G and Friends show was phenomenal artist from all over came out to support Uni G. He is promoting his sophomore album titled “The Unidentified God” which is coming out soon. Uni G is an amazing talented artist/ producer. He is grinding and working hard promoting his music and brand. At the same time he is humble and support other up and coming and established artists. Each show case he does is different and he gives artists a platform to present their talent to the world.

The host Petey kept the crowd laughing and entertained throughout night. Petey is really funny if you want to laugh and enjoy life check him out he has a show every 1st Friday follow him @pdeezjokes. DJ Rich Kidd from Hot 97 was on the 1 and 2s spinning hot tracks all night. The showcase featured 10 acts and everyone was amazing. Nile Alexander started the show with a poem called “Except Black”. That poem was amazing a must hear.

Brooklyn’s Elites had a lot of energy and had the crowd dancing. I enjoyed their song “Do it Biggie”, check out the video on YouTube. Luggage came all the way from New Jersey and put it down. He also did a collaboration with Con(Confidential) also from New Jersey I really enjoyed the song they did together, it had that Nate Dogg feel. The Bronx native King James was hype and had a lot of crowd participation.

Osom Stretch was in the audience showing love and supporting the Uni G and Friends’ movement. Also went up and blessed the stage, Ms. Rina Glover held it down for the ladies. She sung live with a guitarist Lucus. She performed Ghost and Words, look out for her album coming soon. The two special Guest Smoke Dza from Harlem and Grafh from Queens showed up and showed out. They came with their own DJ had the crowd dancing, singing and enjoying their vibe. I really enjoyed Grafh song, “Trap Phone Ringin”.

Uni G closed the show. Uni G always start his performance with a dope intro. He performed 6 songs and had a live percussion player Brandon. I am really feeling his song “I wish and Me & You”featuring Sammie. - Kapri Edwards

"Uni-G – #NoSuckaMcs4"

Uni-G as pushes the envelope with his new freestyle #NoSuckaMcs4 produced by legendary Funk Volume producer Kato. He notably calls out some of Hip-Hop's best Mc's like J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Cyhi The Prynce and many more. He never fails to show his lyrical capability, a unique flow that switches time and time again but meshes so perfectly and shines with punchlines that go over your head forcing you to listen to the track more than once. He solidifies his package with a clean visual, shot by Director Gambino loaded with colorful graffiti and even a man hanging from a noose to match his slavery punchlines and a deep message he continuously conveys through his music.
