An afternoon with Jeff Lorber!!

Posted By IreneB from Orlando, FL October 3, 2009

Hi everybody!!

I hope you are having a good fall so far, my days fly between trips, concerts, contests and so on...And it's Saturday again!!

Last week we were in Detroit and everything was great, first we were at  Sounds Of Soul Radio and last Friday we were at The Loading Dock. We will probably be back at the end of november to do some more performances.

This month we we will be travelling to New York (at last!!) on the 17th and Miami on the 24th, but both are private parties, so I won't have the opportunity to see any of you this month, but maybe next. We want to try to go back to Europe by the end of the year, maybe for Christmas!! So European cross your fingers!!

This week we have been recording for the new record, I am very happy that I'm again at the creation moment, the truth is I like all the moments about being an artist: creation, recording and live. There is not one day that regret having fought for my dream of being a singer. I feel so lucky!

And talking about feeling fortunate, yesterday I had a day that I will never forget!! I had the pleasure to spend a few hours with the legendary jazz keyboard player, Jeff Lorber, creator of the sample that we used for the song I Wanna Fly in my album. We were talking about the song and he said he loved what we did to the song and that he would love to work with us in the future. I hope so! Let's see what the future brings... We also went to his concert and we he started playing Rain Dance I just wanted to jump on stage and start singing I Wanna Fly, can you imagine? I would've been nice, but the concert was not only his, but other artists' as well, so he told me we couldn't do it this time, but if we came across each other someday, he would love to do our version. I believe someday, in the future, we will do it. We have to have faith!

Anyway, there's not much else to do, just remind you that there is only one more week left to submit your remixes for the "Dedicated" Remix Contest, the truth is that I've heard some of them and there is a lot of quality. Let's see what the judges say! I cannot choose my favourite until I don't have them all, but I'm telling you that it's going to be difficult to choose a winner!

Here you have a list of podcasts that added my songs to their playlist:

- Undemocratic Hitlist (UK)

- Dalecast (UK)

I hope you have a great week, XOXOXO!
