Metamorphosis Birthday Series I - I Wanna FlyPosted By IreneB from Orlando, FL February 7, 2010You can listen now to the first song of the Metamorphosis Birthday Series. In this case is I Wanna Fly, produced by Frankie Biggz and with lyrics by Frankie, Amy Hartwig and myself. This song is absolutely my favorite of the album, because it's very dear to me, talks about my struggles in Spain doing this kind of music. Not to mention that this song has a sample from my dear friend Jeff Lorber, from his song "Rain Dance". Also very beautiful because it has quotes from radio shows and podcasts that I was at. Here you have the lyrics of the song. Enjoy! Lorber, F. Lucio, I. Bauzá, A. Hartwig)
Here’s a little story I’ve got to tell you About the time my dreams almost fell through Negativity all around me had me thinking I could never make it Always took it as a lesson to me To only deal in reality ‘Cause no one would ever wanna take a chance on me
SEGWAY And so I fantasize and metamorphosize Thinking of ways that I could turn it around And this is all that I wanna do right I just can’t let this feeling go Something’s telling me is now or never so
CHORUS I wanna fly I wanna fly and touch the sky I wanna be a butterfly and just fly I wanna fly I wanna Spread my wings and let the wind take me so high
Because… Life in Spain back then seemed hopeless I was afraid, all alone and helpless And even when I tried to ask some questions Everybody had the same old answers: “You’re too white for this, too fat for that You’re from Barcelona, What’s up with that?” It became pretty obvious I had to room to dream
SEGWAY
CHORUS
It doesn’t matter where I go People all around me will Have their own opinions If I look to God I know He will make a way for me to fly
CHORUS (x2)
