J Mason

(Born August 21, 1997) Joshua Wayne Mason || better known as “J Mason” or @jmasontharapper is an American rapper, songwriter, and entertainer. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee then raised in Tazewell, Tennessee by his grandmother. He was brought up in a rather small city. It really didn’t have much to offer unless you were planning on selling drugs, working in a factory, at a restaurant, or hauling product in a big rig for the remainder of your life. Against all odds at the very young age of eight he began writing and recording music. With his mother being a drug attic; along with the majority of his family, and his father always on the road as a truck driver with no interest in being involved, or supporting his career choice there was no doubt he had a lot to vent about. Every day before and after school growing up he would listen to his influences religiously. Such as (Eminem, Lil Wayne, Chamillionaire, T.I, etc.) Later at the age of thirteen he performed at his first gig which was held in Atlanta, Georgia. From then on, he continued investing and believing in himself. That led to traveling to multiple different states. (Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Florida) networking, performing, and promoting his music at open mics and industry showcases. Seeing as to how he was chasing his dreams/goals by any means necessary people could no longer could consider him a “local artist”. On October, 6 2016 he released his first official studio project titled “Humble & Hungry” everywhere you can stream and buy music. The project was presented by his self-owned company/brand “Be Yourself Empire” which has had much success thanks to his loyal fans. It contains 9 original songs that talk about J’s life situations and experiences. His music does most of his talking for him.
