NZ Tour - Here we go!

Very excited to be heading off to NZ tomorrow. We've got some new songs we'll be trying out and also a couple of new tune sets, not to mention the unpredictable loop pedal making the trip with us :) As this is a duo tour there will be plenty of banter and hopefully some good laughs on stage. Busy week ahead.

I've a busy week coming up this week with 4 different shows. My first gig with songwriter Rory Butler is on Tuesday the 24th at the Danny Kyle stage, Celtic Connections. Then it's down to London the following day with Emily Smith to play a Robert Burns night. Back up to Edinburgh on Thursday for another Burns gig and finishing off the week with our Sold Out show at the Big Burns Supper in Dumfries.… (read more)

Had a great time last week recording a 4-track promo EP with James Fagan for our new duo, The James Brothers. We recorded the tracks live at Ferndale Studios and are stoked with how they sound! I'll get a couple of the tracks up on the website soon! (read more)

USA/Canada + UK Solo Shows

I'm looking forward to heading over to North America later this month to play with Emily Smith. We’ve a gig in San Francisco with the lovely Hannah Read on Fiddle, before heading to Portland, Maine for a couple of duo shows and then on up to the mighty Celtic Colors Festival in Canada. Well, it sure feels this summer is whittling away quite fast, not nearly as much sun as I'd hoped and not even the one bbq yet! Looking forward to the Cambridge Folk Festival next week with Emily Smith, had a rehearsal with the fantastic Brian Finnegan yesterday and I reckon it's going to sound great! Orkney Folk Festival

I'm happy to say I've arrived safely and not too blown about at the Orkney Folk Festival! The new car made the 8.5 hr drive pleasantly bearable (as did the Ian Rankin book on tape...) Although i'd have been happy if the boat hadn't been sashaying so much... Really looking forward to the weekend of gigs, music and sessions plus it'll be great to catch up with some old friends.
