Jason Masi is a Virginia based singer-songwriter currently residing in the NoVA/DC area. He has released three studio albums, two with his Richmond VA based band Jubeus, and one solo album in 2010. He currently plays solo, duo, with his solo band and with Jubeus performing over 200 shows per year.
A number of Jason's songs have been played regularly on college and triple A radio across the US and Canada and licensed for use for various TV stations including MTV, Oxygen and The USA Network. His 2007 release with Jubeus, "Natural Mood", was reviewed by Performing Songwriter Magazine as a top DIY release of 2007. His latest album, "Balance & Pull" was included in popular radio show host, George Graham's "Best of 2010 Albums" list. Jason has performed his songs on a number of TV programs including Virginia In the Morning, The Music Scene and Virginia Currents as well as performed at a number of premiere music venues including The 9:30 Club in DC, The National in Richmond, The 8x10 in Baltimore, Camp Barefoot in Gore VA and The Red Gorilla Festival in Austin TX.
Some notable artists that Jason has shared the stage with include: Blind Melon, Everclear, The Whigs, Jimmy Fortune(of The Statler Brothers), Oteil Burbridge (of the Allman Brothers), Cyro Baptista, The Sugar Hill Gang, Donna The Buffalo, Soldiers of Jah Army, The Mosquitos, Ernie Halter, The Country Gentelmen, and Michelle Nixon & Drive.
Jason's songwriting approach is truly versatile and eclectic and has been described as "Willie Nelson on a picnic with Dave Matthews Band playing songs by John Mayer."-Melodic.net. His influences range from the soul of Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder to the folk and blues stylings of Van Morrison, James Taylor, and Tom Petty.
Jason is currently in the studio tracking his fourth studio album (second solo album) in Richmond VA which will be released in 2011.
