Bio
Jazz Forest was formed in 2017 by Emmy and Grammy nominated composer Ron Jones. His music
is heard daily world-wide as the soundtrack for such series as Family Guy (FOX), Star Trek:The Next
Generation (Paramount) and many more. Ron moved back to the Northwest and built a major recording
and music production studio and wanted to focus on creating music without bounds.
The result was Jazz Forest. The term Jazz is far too broad to define the genre today. Jazz can really be
many things. Jazz Forest taps into the roots of Jazz, standards,straight-ahead, Be-Bop as well as influences
such as pop, and other contemporary styles. The creative direction of Jazz Forest is to combine great
players, each artists in their own right with great charts that allow the audience to experience those
great performers. With 12 players you can do a lot musically.
The band features such great soloists as Jeff Kashiwa, Pete Christlieb, Jared Hall, Susan Pascal, Steve Kirk,
Brian Monroney, Bill Anschell, Matt Jorgensen, Nate Omdal and Dan Marcus. Special guest artists from
L.A. Include such great players as Chuck Findley, Dave Tull, Brad Dutz.
The first album release, North By Freaking West on SkyMuse Records is available via streaming such as
Itunes and the other popular music outlets online.
Jazz Forest is based in Western Washington and the group performs to packed venues from Olympia
to Bellingham. Recently, Ron performed the Jazz Forest book with his top L.A. session players to a sold-out
two night stand at Studio City California’s Vitello’s Jazz Club.
