Jen Bollom

I’ve been singing since I could walk and songwriting since I could drive. My love for music, especially music as a mode for creation, has been one of the constants in my life. It has left me here and there, but it always comes back around. A little behind my time, I was awestruck by The Beatles and Bob Dylan in junior high school and continued to explore different artists and sounds as I moved through college and into (what I claim to be) adulthood. Though a good beat can get you moving, I have always stood in reverence of someone who could bring you to his or her own time and place to “show” the story being told. I strive for this level of truth in my songwriting. Whether song, script, book, or letter, writing is a personal, but cathartic avenue. It lets us explore who we are, ponder who we would like to be, and examine who we could or would never imagine being.

I have tasted music on many levels, whether in a band setting or by myself in a corner of my room. I don’t like to define it, just as I don’t like it defining me. We happily coexist and give each other a nod on a bad day or a deep embrace on a good day.

I’ve created what I feel from one day to the next. My creative endeavors and vocals have been supported by many great collaborators over the past few years. Most recently, I have to thank Mr. Sean Hebert, a.k.a The Global Guitarist, who lent his ear, his patience, and his instrumental genius to helping create the tracks you hear. And also to my sister, who has provided her talents on backing vocals and who has continued to offer me inspiration and support in this artistic mission.
