"No inhibitions baby! It's all her. Everyday, all day!"

August 17, 2007

"Very rare can you find an artist that hides behind a transparent sheet, bears all and want you to know all. No questions asked. Jenn-Jenn; poet, mc, writer an soon to be CEO of her own label, from California by way of the Philippines is ready to create, perform and expose good music."

"It's safe to say that this 22 year old artist is a natural at the mic. Soft spoken, yes, but don't let the pitch food you, she's more than confident she'll get your attention. "

"Her sound, you can't categorize" "There are no expectations with Jenn-Jenn, unless it's to hear good music."

"Fans know it's real when they hear Jenn-Jenn. Not only is she a talented lyricist, honey is the full package; beauty and brains with an unapologetic personality. Though not overly confident, just boldly denotes that if you lover her, great and if you don't...you will."

"To catch her live is to witness a musical expression in its rawest form." - Rebel City Music [Simone Banks]

Bio

With the rise of carelessness in the music industry, many people associate female Hip-Hop artists with butts and breasts - and Lesbian artists with rainbows and raunchy sexual energy. JENN-JENN exposes listeners to a different side by adding a large batch of SOUL to the recipe. This music is an extension of JENN-JENN's sophisticated, yet playful personality that brings together listeners of all backgrounds.

She's got a universal sound that takes a little flavor from all of the places she's been growing up.

JENN-JENN has been writing since her childhood years and in 2007 she began recording parodies to some of Hip-Hop's current hits at the time. After realizing that people were really LISTENING, she decided to give them a weekly dosage of new music from her personal journal. No more parodies. Just personal experience.

Her fan base grew with the help of the Myspace music network. Hundreds of listeners tuned in from the US to the UK. In an attempt to secure the dedication of her listeners, fans and supporters, she mailed out a FREE copy of her mixtape to EVERY single individual who requested one. With all of this money coming out of pocket, she had to step aside from recording for a little bit to save enough funds so that she could grow even more.

In 2009, she released "Nothin' to do wit' Anything - The Mixtape - Vol. 2" which actually turned into a CONCEPT project as JENN-JENN has pulled some of the songs from that mixtape and revamped them before placing them onto her upcoming album.

In 2011 she released her first official single "Officer Get Money" that exposes listeners to the abuse of power and the effect that money-hungry officers in high places are having on the world. This more hardcore track was a nice surprise for the listeners to get them out of their comfort zones.

In 2012, JENN-JENN released a Hip-Hop tribute song to honor the legendary basketball coach Pat Summitt entitled “We Back Pat." Known mostly for her soul-infused Hip-Hop love songs, this California Hip-Hop MC wrote a different type of love song to got listeners involved in a good cause.   She also found a way to delicately touch on the Alzheimer’s topic to assure Pat Summitt that she has a team of people to support and back her during this transition – inspired by the University of Tennessee's “We Back Pat” campaign.

In 2013, some of JENN-JENN's dreams and visions became reality.  In order to understand this, let's circle back around to the year 2007 when she first came across Grammy-award winning producer 9th Wonder's "Close Your Eyes" beat.  She laid down a couple of verses on that track and released it as a FREE mixtape download.  For years, she went back and forth about recreating a beat so that she could release it as an official single.  Deep down inside, she believed that beat was tailored for her flow and even though she had a team of producers willing to create something new with the same feel, she couldn't let it go.  After years of networking and learning more about the industry, she finally acquired exclusive rights to 9th Wonder's instrumental and her dreams of having it be the first single of her official debut album came true.

On September 26, 2013 the single release of "Close Your Eyes" was celebrated at an industry preview event held at the lovely XEN Lounge in Studio City.  Attendees had an opportunity to not only hear the single performed live, but also get a sneak preview of the upcoming album while industry executives were in the building scoping out the project.

PAUSE!  Something is missing here. It's 2017 now.  So what the hell happened between September 2013 and now?  Well, you'll have to stay tuned & involved to hear that story.  But what we can tell you is that the NEXT single from the album was "Bad Idea" which is scheduled to be re-released in Fall of 2017 with enhanced production and surprise vocalists.
