Jordan Indiana Gonzalez can sum up his whole goal of writing and playing music with that line from his song, “Starship”. There is beauty in the simplicity of a catchy melody, and he desires to let that beauty captivate the listener while pulling them deeper still with the subtle complexities of his lyricism.
The California-born, St. Louis-raised artist had a love for music and singing ever since he could speak. Jordan grew up belting out harmonies with Backstreet Boys CDs, jamming out to Billy Joel with his dad in the car, playing guitar in pop/punk and ambient rock bands, studying jazz in college, and immersing himself in the rhythmic vocal stylings of hip/hop. These many influences allowed him to develop an appreciation for all types of music, and he is constantly combining different elements of these diverse styles in his own music.
With his latest single release, “Losing You,” Jordan gives a taste of his upcoming self-titled album.
