Deep Thots by Mooki: Lyrical FrugalitySeptember 29, 2009
Okay, so we have one song right that we are tracking and the song is rocking BUT no lyrics!!! Not a problem -- I love to right lyrics. Well - maybe a problem if I think too much about them. Sometimes it takes me years to get the lyrics "right". I'm pretty picky (to say the least) about word choice and structure for our songs.
Anyway, I'm about to sit down (during our lunch break) and try to pen some inspiring lyrics and we here a song come on from Gigs' Ipod. In my opinion this must be one the MOST LYRICALLY FRUGAL, ECONOMICALLY CONSCIOUS songs I have ever heard (I through in "economic" because Eli is studying Economics right now...). The song is "What If" by Creed; over 90% of the song's lyrics are the three words "what", "if", and "I". Wow! Deep Thot by Mooki: Who would have thought that a song could be so successful with 3 words (and not the most common 3 words for songs -- eg "I LOVE YOU")!?!?!?!? Back to me -- word choice, structure, rhyme, patterns, oh my! This last unlyric'd song is ROCKING and my heart is that the words are the kind cut deep and take root and become owned more by the hearer than even by me. God, use us and this song for years to come... |
